This was exactly what I needed to replace my broken skeg. It fit well and performed well. Installation was simple. (Getting the old one off was not). It made the boat look much better… now I need A stainless steel prop.

It turns out that trying to dig a trench in the bottom of a lake with your skeg and prop is not a good idea. I took my boat to the local boat shop and they told me it would be a few hundred dollars to install a skeg replacement. After 5 minutes on Amazon I found the same part that they showed me in the shop.I had to cut a small part of the remaining jagged skeg off so the guard would slide on completely. I drilled two small holes in the existing aluminum skeg, which took about 3 minutes. A touch of thread locker, a screwdriver, and it was done. Total install time was probably 15 minutes.It has stayed tight so far but it's probably not a good idea to break it off again as you need some existing skeg left on the leg to attach this replacement part to. If you don't have a few inches of skeg left on the leg then this isn't going to work.Good product, easy install.

In order to get it placed correctly I needed a block of wood and a hammer - as stated in the documentation! Other than that it was super easy. Love it.
