I used this to replace the OEM set up that had the power cord fed thru a small access door.

If you're the type that reads directions, be VERY CAREFUL when assembling the cord end receptacle. The image in Figure 2 is WRONG. The image indicates the neutral (White) wire in the wrong location. (see my pic)Otherwise, this is pretty nice. Others have noted that it's VERY difficult to put the outer watertight cover in place and they are definitely right! Even when heating with a hair dryer the cover is extremely difficult to put in place. There's yet another problem and that's with the Amazon page description of items needed. The description indicates, as of this writing, that a 2.5 inch hole saw is needed. Instead, it should indicate at least a 2.8 inch saw (which would be a tight fit) or even better a 2.9 or 3.0 inch hole saw should be used. (see the other pic)After all that, I'd definitely recommend the item. I don't know how long they'll last in the elements (if they're safe for exposure to the sun) but it fit my needs exactly. I'm using it for adding temporary power to a shipping container converted to household storage. It gets dark in there :)

I was looking for an adapter for our RV. I have yet to install it, but don't anticipate any problems. I would suggest the product details include the dimensions of the cutout required. (In my case 30A connector requires 2 7/8" cutout.) Basically, my questions were answered by the installation instructions included in the order. I would've felt more comfortable placing my order if the install instructions were available here. Also, it's not clear in the product images how the rubber boot is to be used/installed. The photos show the boot fitted to the female side of the plug, and, in reality, if you intend to use the boot, it'll need to be installed on the cable side of the plug.[Update] Added photo of finished installation. I read a review that used Dawn dish soap to help install the rubber boot. I used a heat gun to warm up the boot, and this worked for me. I noticed it's easy to cross-thread the rubber boot screw on, so be sure threads are aligned properly during hand-tightening.I wanted to keep using the original power cord storage space, so I installed a larger baggage door (18"x11") where the original power door hatch used to be.
