Great material and finishing. It came with protection grid and screws for mounting. It has been running non-stop since installed a few months ago in a commercial bottle cooler. No appreciable noise, good airflow.

EDIT: May 1, 2021– still running strong as new 24/7. This is a great example of value in getting what you pay for! It’s working as planned, too….I find I have to remind myself to clean the litter rather than nose-knowing every single time the mouthy little furbeast does a deed.I bought two of these for a slightly unusual purpose: forced airflow through carbon air filters built into a cat litter enclosure. The enclosure (also sourced from Amazon) cabinet already had two vents with brackets to hold activated carbon air filters, but with a large opening to facilitate a large beast ironically (whether by intelligent or evolutionary design) equipped with razor-feet there was no way to keep the smell of his “business” from wafting back out.Enter the muffin fan!Admittedly, with one of these mounted over each of the two vents (and an ionizer on the “bathroom” setting), the walk-in closet in my office/guest bedroom does sound like I’m hosting a server farm....but I tell ya there’s a forced airflow through those carbon filters now! Better yet, my entirely-too-sensitive olfactory response is all the better for it.These fans are very powerful. They’re running 24/7/365 since purchase and no problems. Given they’re in my office, a quieter function would be optimal, but quieter would also impact effectiveness in this particular/unorthodox application. They’re also exactly the right size to fit over the filter frame, which is how I found them.I’m in the technical field and am familiar with the noise level generated by this type of fan, so I knew what I was getting into...if you need a small but very powerful fan for a forced airflow environment, this is what you’re looking for! Just don’t be surprised that this kind of power isn’t whisper quiet.

I have a few axial built fans. They are smooth abs long lasting.Have two that have been going almost non stop for 3 years. Still perfect.Only noise you hear is air moving. Check the cfm output if that’s a concern

I bought this fan for cooling my dorm room in winter. I would normally just open my window in winter to let cold air in but i have several plants I keep near the window in question and have learned that the cold air absolutely will kill them. So my room gets hot and stuffy if my door was closed. Having many roommates I can either have a cool loud room or a hot quiet one. But here's the brain wave, in summer I have a portable ac unit with one of those 6" hoses that goes to the window. In winter I like to put in the basement cause it's large and can't be used to suck outside air in it only exhausts, what if I left the hose? Now i can direct the cold air and it's no where near my plants! Great! Expect that actually not that much cold air just comes in. This is where that fans comes into play, it happens to fit perfectly on the hose and sucks fresh cold air. When coupled with their speed controller and a thermostat plug I have a little climate control system that can be easily adjusted to the current need. I made a little mount out of some plywood to hold it in place and it's great. The design lets me flip the fan around so that I can either suck air in out push it out, this is great if you wanna get an unwanted smell out... maybe your college mates life ending flatulence... or whatever. When I was making I was a dumb hence the head line, I plugged it in and held it against the hose to try and see how much air would pull through and didn't put the guards on. This was dumb... the fan blades caught a tab and nearly took my finger off, instead one of the blades broke off and went falling across the room, totally user error there, since I had nothing left to loose because you can't use it with a broken blade as it's off balance and vibrates so aggressively small furniture moves around, I decided to try just gluing the blade back on with IPS 16 and acrylic glue... Amazingly! this has worked fine though i still sometimes cower in fear of it shoot that blade into my tv. Moral of the story just put the guards on itAnyway about the fan+pretty quiet, I heard quieter but definitely get the speed controller to really hush it up, probably quieter than most range hood+moves a lot of air going all out with good static pressure, I can feel it come under the door+very well built, outside ring thiccc aluminum+price is very good compared to other inline duct blowers, even is that's not what it's supposed to be+is constantly exposed to freezing temperatures and works just fine, I mean it's an electric motor...-the mounting hole pattern is a little weird, but its a weird size and shouldn't matter-I don't really like the way the detachable power cable connects, kind of some small pins that angle out at a 45 instead of tucking against the frame neatly, the connector doesn't really feel like its seats all the way down, without felling like you're going to break or bend the pins, but you should really only do that once, and will not come off, so really just a nit pick-speed control is separate aka spend more money... but being able to mix and match in their line up of products is very nice as you don't have to buy a more expensive one with it built inGood fangreat for ventingwill run probably a long timedon't be dumb like meget the speed controller, unless you have it far away in a green house or something?oh have had it for like 3 months or something

Great fan! Needed a replacement for our air hockey table and this one works great -- easily double the pressure over our old one. So much pressure I just ordered the speed control to go with it so that we can dial it down a bit. Nice metal housing gives this a strong feel.
