I am just getting into soldering as a hobby and tried out leaded solder and then go this in an attempt to avoid lead. I can say without question that this stuff is just as easy to use as the leaded stuff while being safer for me and my pet cat and for the environment. It does require using a hotter iron temperature and using additional flux occasionally but I am very happy with this product and this will now be my go to brand of solder wire.

"This solder is made in Canada, unlike the low-quality Chinese-made alternatives that sell at extreme prices. This lead-free solder is the best on the market at this price point because it melts easily at low temperatures. I have my TS101 set to 300°C, and it melts instantly. For larger wires, I set it to 350°C at most. Most other lead-free solders require starting at 330°C and going up to the highest setting of 400°C, but this one melts like lead solder without the lead, making it safer. Most importantly, every tip I use is still in perfect condition and doesn't oxidize like other soldering wires. The TS101 and all T12 soldering stations recommend using lead-free solder because the tips are designed for it, ensuring they last longer. Just make sure to tin the tip every time you're done using it, and the next time you use it, it will look brand new again when you wipe it clean with a brass ball or wet spong

Solder seems to be good quality and made in Canada was a bonus. Much better product than the imported cheaply produced stuff. Would buy again.
