On the bench today, I’ve got an Actogeer 7-inch Short Antenna Fits for Toyota Tundra 2014+ & Toyota Tacoma 1995+ & FJ Cruiser 2007+, Internal Copper Coil for Enhanced Reception, 13 inches Rubber Antenna Replacement Accessories. To start off, since the listing doesn’t seem to know whether the antenna is 13 inches or 7 inches, the antenna is actually 7” long. The antenna also just has a female thread in the bottom and comes with 2 different male threaded studs that will thread into the antenna and allow it to fit multiple different vehicle thread types so it will fit more vehicles than just what is listed. It will also lead to a bit more annoyance in the future in that it will likely unthread from the antenna instead of the vehicle and you’ll have to remove the stud from the vehicle without messing up the exposed stud threads. During my signal strength testing, it did it when I was taking it off to compare to the stubby I put on when the truck was new.The antenna itself has a female 6mm x 1.0 thread. The two adapters are male 5mm x 0.8 and 8mm x 1.25 thread options so if your vehicle uses any of those 3 thread options for the antenna then it should fit. With the current 40% and 5% off coupons, it brings the price down to a reasonable price range since you’ll get it much quicker from Amazon. This same antenna is sold under numerous brands and if I didn’t mind waiting a few weeks, I could get it for a bit less than $10 easily. So for slightly more than $10, it’s a pretty fair value if you’re in a hurry. For reception testing, I was comparing it to the little stubby in the pictures that I’ve always had since I only ever stream music so I’ve never cared about picking up radio stations. I’ve always just kept the factory antenna behind the seat for in case I ever actually needed better reception. Using the regular stubby, I can pick up around 12-16 FM stations plenty clearly to listen to. With the twisted 7” antenna, a can pick up around 7-10 more and some of the ones that the stubby picked up were enough of an increase that it was noticeable to the ear.So, overall, as long as the actual price is closer to the $10 coupon sale price than the full $20 price, it’s a decent enough value. I wouldn’t even glance at it for $20 tho as I mentioned already, this same antenna is sold under numerous brands and can be found for less than $10 pretty easily if you are patient.
