We ended attaching it directly to the buoy and the anchor line. It was deployed as part of a scientific monitoring effort and has held up well so far - it's been out a bit over a month. Everything was still working well for our first retrieval and re-deployment. It was easy to set up and has held up to summer weather conditions in the center of a small lake in the Adirondacks.

These are very handy and work wonderfully in most situations, if you have a heavy anchor and chain you may need consider a larger version or a lager float.

I have been using to retrieve a 11 lbs Bruce anchor with 15 feet of 1/4 inch chain, using 2 fenders instead of a buoy and it works great every time.Why take more storage space oof the boat when you can use the fenders for double purpose.

This did the job it was designed to do and seems like it's fairly sturdy. I am not a fan of the slick plasticky rope, but was able to securely tie it. I will update if the ring rusts or breaks, or if the rope fails.
