Tried the colored sporty ones initially made of both aluminum and rubbery plastic. Did not feel good in the hands. Not this wheel. It is solid and feels good in your hands. Works well on an old Nitro Bass boat with newly installed hydrolic steering.

So I purchased a project boat to work away at, and discovered the steering cable was very tight. I ordered all the pieces to fix that and decided I might as well have a nice new wheel to go with my new helm. This unit fits the Bill and doesn’t break the bank. My initial impression was that it was a little cheap and plastic-y but upon installation, the vibe is very 1990 Firebird. The rim feels nice in your hands, not too big and not too thin. Has a cushiony grip without being overly soft. Definitely it will not absorb water. The triple key watt made getting the wheel straight easier. The centre cap fits snugly to complete the installation. 8/10 would buy again.
