Ok! I bought this camera as a precaution, as I had a new neighbor who was interested in cutting trees on my property against my wishes. I placed the camera in an unobtrusive spot and, once the problem no longer existed, sort-of forgot about it. That was almost exactly two years ago. Today my son took the memory card out to see what, if anything, was on it. It took an hour to download the over 6000 pictures it had taken. It was a chronicle of our outdoor life over the past two years. Clear-as-could-be pictures, both day and night: deer, bats, raccoons and frolicking skunks, with recognizable figures up to 150 feet away. We were all amazed at the quality of the photos. As to the number; over time a branch grew into the frame and when the wind blew it would take a shot every five minutes or so. Absolutely terrific product. Will be setting it out again soon, just for the fun of it.

I bought the Recon Force camera it fits it well. Should protect it from bears as they destroyed my last camera. Worth the money as replacing the camera is a lot more.

I just received my Browning Trail Camera security box from Amazon in its usual one or two day delivery fashion...For those guys interested I bought this for my Browning Recon Force Full HD trail camera and it fits like a glove. As normal routine for me before I even open a package I look where the product is manufactured.....No surprise here...CHINA. But do not be alarmed or even cautious on this item. It is spot on in design, quality, finish, and purpose. I would buy 10 more, that is as soon as I buy four more Browning Trail cameras. The picture that Amazon showed was a camo trail inside a brown colored metal security even though they described it as a camo box. My security box did in fact arrive to me in camo and the camo is identical to the Browning Recon Force color to the letter. In fact when the camera is in the security box all snugged up , both the camera and box appear as one unit..amazing.The only part of the security box that is NOT camo is the main outside perimeter of the box along the bottom edge and the rear upright and top back edges. This part of the frame is a nice tone color brown and should not be considered a reason NOT to buy this item. If you are like me you just leave it or if you are bored like me you do what I do and apply some camo tape along the edge. This box is 4-1/4" wide, and 6-1/8" tall and 2-3/4" front to back. The detail, design plan was well thought out on this unit..This is not flimsy metal construction. The thickness looks to be about 14-16 guage, right about 1/16" thick. You would be hard pressed to bend it or flex it. It is very rigid in design. The back mounting plate which is separate from the camera cover section is of same thickness and quality. The mounting plate has a few features which make it a great unit. There are slots 1/8" by 1-1/4" long to accept a web belt to first secure it to a tree, as you fine tune its mounting position. When they cut this unit with a CNC plasma machine or water jet they incorporated (2) holes on the back plate for two screws to mount to a tree and at the same time saw teeth were cut vertically to bite or grab the trees bark or skin to prevent the camera from moving once it is mounted. The neat feature here is they even articulated holes in the rear mounting plate in three different locations to accept the Master Python cable Lock allowing this camera to be cinched down very tight to the tree. Allows you to weave the cable in a serpentine fashion or just one pass through. Finally the rear mounting has five (5) final cutouts which were designed to accept the cover. Let me tell you right now, when this mounting plate is mounted correctly on the tree and then the cover is slid in place it's bulletproof, figuratively speaking because actually some crazy guy with a gun could shoot it, since he wont' be able to remove it and get frustrated, thus he shouldn't own a gun. Okay, so you have mounted the backing plate to the tree. Now the camera goes in place and sits nicely on a plate form . Now before you put the cover on one important bit of information. Turn the camera ON. Okay camera is on, and now the cover mounts to the back by starting the cover in a high position and just sliding it down vertically to secure it to the rear mounting plate. Takes all of about three seconds. As the camera cover slides down to secure the box the cover it engages the mounting plate in five (5) locations, two on each side and one at the top. Now the camera is mounted, and secured it needs to be locked in some fashion, which there are two options. Actually three, the third is, no lock at all if you trust the rest of mankind. Option one and this one I would recommend is the use of the Master Lock Python cable, and back it up with option two which is the use of a padlock on the lower front lip. Lets face it if someone wants this camera and is daring, the next time you visit your camera all that will be there will be a tree stump, and maybe a thank you note, but don't count on it. Most importantly ALWAYS CARRY YOUR KEY WITH YOU OR hide it somewhere near the tree where you wont forget where you put it. NO key , no access to your SD card or camera at all as a matter of fact. Well hope this helps youzz guys out. Lastly when I ordered mine on November 29th 2015 I paid $24.70 and the seller was Optics Planet via Amazon. Amazon products prices constantly fluctuate as do sellers, so you might not find this unit at the same price as I paid. Maybe it will be cheaper who knows. Happy hunting
