After loads of research and deliberation, I went for it. This is a spectacular set of bins for stargazing. As a new stargazer, these let me see the Pleiades cluster last night for the very first time. Emotional or what!! I’m going to have such fun with them. I’ll be using a tripod as they can be a bit heavy for a long session. Research already told me that. But wowzers. They will be brilliant for wildlife too. Did a test run on my way to work yesterday looking across towards the coast about 5 miles away. I could see the sandunes nice and clear. Just hope neighbours won’t think I’m a voyeur!!!Oh, had a quick response from tech support too to understand the ‘split’ in the loop on the lens covers. It’s for reason, not a fault. I’ll let you research why !!

Not many porro style ED binoculars out there and they cost a good bit more than this offering from Celestron, wide FOV , crisp optics , solid build, neck strap is a bit basic as far as padding goes however the case in very good. A very good value at this price point , minor negative is the weight, clearly not a binocular for taking on long hikes. I would buy again. One star deleted as I needed to clean spots of a greasy substance of one of the objective lenses.

As a relative newbie in the world of amateur astronomy, I wanted to start with binoculars. But not just any binoculars, I wanted to choose ones that would #1, give me an incredible view of the night sky and #2, last for years.First off, the clarity on the SkyMaster Pro 7x50 ED is incredible. They are perfectly collimated and I get sharp images and no annoying color fringing along the edge of the moon you might see with lesser binoculars. The Orion nebula is a favorite thing to view but I also enjoy the planets and learning the constellations. What I didn’t expect is that I have also found myself grabbing these during the day to check out wildlife and birds near my house. And thanks to their small size compared to other astro binoculars, I can actually see myself taking these to the lake, spotting boats, or camping. Now, let’s talk price. Yes, these binoculars are on the pricier side, but you do get what you pay for. The build quality and the optics are top notch. They are comfortable to use and hold. The housing is sturdy and waterproof. Basically they’re built to last. A couple of wishlist items: it would be awesome if these came with the tripod adapter included and maybe include a couple of basic filters to start with, but these are inexpensive items I can pick up myself for a few bucks. I haven’t felt the need to mount them on a tripod yet, they are easy to use without one.Overall, if you’re looking to dive into astronomy and want a quality binocular to learn the sky, I really recommend these. They’re just plain fun to use.
