The material stands up to terrific abuse and still works just fine. I’ve had a different pair of these for a year and a half and use them a ton in all weather conditions, barefoot, and alternatively with thick insulated socks, depending on the conditions - the leather over that period of time remains that resilient flexible waterproof and good looking. I am 170 pounds and haven’t even put a mark on the sole yet for wear. They still have excellent grip on ice and snow. This is the second pair I bought and I only bought them because I figured at some point in time the first ones would finally give out. Not yet… for what’s out there and for this type of quality it is definitely great value.

I have a very tall child who wears size 7 mens shoes. We could not get his foot in these to save our lives! They had absolutely no stretch even with those 2 loops. Narrow as can be. Returned!
