The rope part is about 25 inch (62 cm) and 'leather' parts have sharp corners making the strap very uncomfortable when sliding it on your body. Probably you can modify the corners to make them less sharp

My full size Canon camera with lens is a bit heavy to use a narrow neckstrap with, bt this is great for my stabilized hunting binocs.

I originally thought the green rope section would be longer than it actually was. The overall length in the description accounts for the black straps at the ends, which make up most of it. As long as you slap some Peak Design clips on there, those will double over and shorten, leaving you with a comfortable section of green rope in the strap. Overall, I like the strap a lot better than I thought I would.
