I use this almost daily in an auto body shop and for personal "paint correction". It works wonders and it's very good bang for your buck. I own rupes polishers as well, and this one is very close to performance.

I have bought other less expensive and smaller polishers and they fail when pushed, but this has the power to not bog down, plus its variable speed offers the best combo! It's well balanced and not that heavy to support long work usage! For a battery portable it lasts a long time and convenient not to worry about a cord trailing behind!

Bought this to prepare our cars for a ceramic wax and it was great. It's a little heavy with a 5ah battery, but still not as bad as my corded rotary polisher. Used about a battery and a half to do a black car and I'm surprised how great of a job it does. It's a bit pricey, but I'm glad I bought it. I wish I hadn't waited as long as I did.

Al ser inalámbrico hay mas seguridad, la verdad no se mucho de esto pero se me hace buena herramienta y desbasta menos que la que hace vueltas. La pila una de 6ah le rinde mucho. La de 9ah no se diga pero es menos peso la de 6 ah, con esta he limpiado vidrios con vinagre y quedan muy transparentes, en fin me gusto la herramienta

Funciona muy bien en lugares donde los cables son un problema, la uso con bateria flex volt de 6 ah, pero su duracion no es la esperada, en ocasiones es necesario cambiar muy rapido la bateria

This is an amazing polisher! The caveat is that it is VERY heavy with a proper battery---so heavy that I only use it on the top panels of anything I work on. If you're a body builder, you might be able to fully cut a couple cars with it, but for me, it's strictly a hood/roof/trunk top polisher.Quality - This is in top-end territory for performance and overall quality, easily matching the top-end polishers from rupes et al. Plus, you're buying a tool from a company that actually knows how to make tools. Yea! I have no doubt it will last as long as you want it to. I've run over many of my Dewalt XT tools before with my truck and they keep on keeping on.Batteries - If you're looking at buying this and are not already invested in Dewalt batteries, plan on spending at least $160 on a couple of 6AH batteries. The 5AH batteries work, but will only run around 45 minutes each. The 6AH ones perform much better, you can expect over an hour out of those. Since I only use this on the top panels, 2 6AH are more than I need to finish a car. If you're planning on using it for the whole car, you're going to need more than 2 6AHs for a mow down, and even more if you're going 2-stage.Overall - This is going to be a game changer for most detailers. The weight actually helps on the top panels, I find it to be the perfect amount of pressure and can just steer it around. Not having to worry about the cord is worth it, along with the huge benefit of having something that doesn't require electricity for remote quick defect removal. It's an excellent tool, but I highly recommend that you have a lighter, plug in DA for the sides in addition to this. It's just too heavy to be your only DA IMO. If you're a pro detailer, just buy it already. It's a complete game changer.

La pulidora me la dieron de regalo de cumpleaños, cuando la ví estaba un poco esceptico por la falta del cable en una pulidora DA, ya que la anterior que tenía era de cable, soy un principiante en esto del detallado automotriz, pero un conocedor de las herramientas Dewalt ya que tengo varias por eso tenía la confianza de utilizarla .El uso y el resultado fue genial, es un herramienta con una buena sensación de calidad a pesar de que está hecha en China, la ENORME VENTAJA DEL MOTOR SIN ESCOBILLAS le da más tiempo de vida a la herramienta, elimina por mucho el calor que genera una pulidora convencional, el ruido generado a altas RPM es mucho menor a comparación de mi anterior DA, la potencia que tiene la herramienta pareceria que es una pulidora con cable y el agarre se siente muy cómodo.La utilize en mi coche, un sedan promedio, con una batería de 5.0ah y me rindió lo suficiente para pulirlo y encerarlo (los 3 pasos de meguiars). Creo yo que con una batería más grande se podrá utilizar para hacer todo el proceso del detallado sin miedo a quedarte sin bateríaEs una herramienta ideal si tienes más herramientas inalámbricas Dewalt por el uso de las baterías como respaldo

I was looking for a polisher for my car and this came to mind. I already have a 5Ah battery and charger so I only needed the tool. Going cordless is great, hard to put into words but you can move faster around a car. When using a corded tool I find the cord is always getting stuck under a tire or something. If you set the cord over the car hood or roof it tends to mark the surface or create light scratches. Which is not a big deal but when polishing a car you are trying to remove scratches.The polishing action is good, I get a great shine using this Polisher. There are a couple negatives, first the polishing pad is 5 inches. That is an odd size, I could not find this size anywhere. Amazon has some 6" pads that they say work on the 5" plates. DeWalt did not have anything available. I tried the 6" pads and they work.The second negative, the pad is too large for polishing all parts of a car. It is difficult to get under the door handle of the car. This is a place where you need a polisher because that area gets scratched. I found you need a second smaller polisher for detailing a car. Some areas of a car can be hand polished but after you see the results of a power polisher you will want more than hand polishing can deliver. But one of those buffing tips for a drill may be sufficient to use in combination with this polisher.The polisher is slow enough to do a good job and not burn through the paint. The speed is variable but I typically use the slowest speed. The results vs hand polishing are substantial. You will polish a car like you have never before by hand. It is amazing and fast. The 5Ah battery lasted the entire car with some battery left. You might need two batteries if doing a large truck but one should work for most cars.
