It’s big though. You can get a smaller size NP-FV30 or NP-FV50 and it will work just fine.

I use this battery to power my Sony Handycam SR12. It consistently lasts for at least four hours of continuous shooting while powering the device's internal hard drive. Be aware that it is physically larger than the battery that comes with the camera and so extends farther past the back of the camera. This isn't a problem unless you have the camera mounted in some very tight quarters. I've been quite pleased with it and would buy another when the need arises.

First of all, I am new on camcoders and recording, but as an engineer I understand electronics, That being said, let me explain what I found using this battery, got only one for testing before getting a full set of 2 batteries and charger.Device: Sony FDR-AX33Testing conditions: inside room at 72 F.I think we all need to understand the most important thing we all are looking on an extended capacity battery; BATTERY LIFE. Got the battery and fully charged, then I turned my camcorder on and what I saw was 4:15 hours battery life on the screen. That's nice!!!, well, it is not after you realize you don't have that at the end. WHY??Because we need to understand that it is different working on empty load or standby than recording. Empty load means your screen and VF on also, maybe some light and proximity sensors working for focusing.Recording involves the whole camcorder working 100%. Obviously your battery is under full load also, the battery life will come down, that's normal on every single electronic device using batteries, no matter what device we are talking about. Now, my test was recording for 60 minutes, then turning off the camera to let it cool down for 15 minutes and start over again. This battery gave me a total recording time of 2:45 hours.I think this is average behaviour for the price you are getting, do you want a recording time of 4 hours? Let's get an original Sony PN-FV100A battery for more than $100.00 is just that simple.Next week I will be testing a different one.Hope this can help, thanks.

I bought this for my Sony AX-100 4K Camcorder. It gives my 3.75 hours of continuous recording which is good for an aftermarket battery but not as good as the original Sony battery. In addition, the dropoff curve is fairly smooth--many aftermarket batteries croak 2/3rds of the way through the power cycle. Well made, decent price.
