This is an adhesive back like window tint. Looks great. Use a spray bottle and some soapy water to apply as there are no instructions. I used and old credit card to squeegee into place.

Background is beautiful and vibrant, but putting it on the tank was difficult. Even after using all the tips and trick, there was still many air bubbles and you could see the adhesive through the glass.

First time setting up a tank with an adhesive background so I’ve had no prior experience. I’m super happy with how it came out. Used an empty Windex bottle with some water and a few drops of dawn dish soap sprayed the back of the tank just enough to coat it fully didn’t want to drench it or else the adhesive would lose its strength. Pretty much went top to bottom when applying started to work the air bubbles out from the middle and I used a credit card as a squeegee. Worked all the bubbles and water out from center to one side and then went from center onto the other side. Used a blow dryer on a low heat setting to speed up the adhesive process. I don’t even have my tank fully setup but it looks amazing so far.

5 stars for the cuteness of the background. Zero stars for ease of application. Adhesive is VERY strong, this background is not repositionable, and you cannot smooth out the bubbles or wrinkles. You have one shot to get it absolutely perfect or it is ruined. It is very difficult to peel off and leaves adhesive behind.

*Update* the small bubbles after the application are easily removed by using a tack, needle, safety pin etc. Poke a tiny hole in the center of said bubble and push the air out.I was a little nervous considering some of the review. However I'm setting up a large glofish tank (I've always wanted some!) and the standard backgrounds of sharks, fish, water, rock walls, forests etc. Would look stupid. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for. And price wise, an excellent deal. It comes rolled up like a poster, which obviously makes it curled when opened. I have an area rug in my bedroom, so I unrolled it and laid it flat, putting the rug on top and left it for a few days. Came out completely flat with almost no effort, making it much easier to work with. It's adhesive (some reviews mentioned it came wrinkled but it was probably the plastic bubbled) which made the application process for me a bit of a process as tmy tank is acrylic and isn't just a flat surface in the back. So there was some measuring and cutting involved for me. An exacto(spelling?) knife would have made it much easier and more precise to size, however I don't own one and had to just use scissors, gets the job done. Stuck it on and looks great. I have tremors in my hands so it's not perfect and there are some bubbles, but they aren't noticeable enough for me to be worried about it. I'm so excited for the finished product. I still need to set it up and cycle/stock the tank. But will update with pictures of what it looks like in an established tank. Highly recommend.
