THIS is the kit I've been waiting for....for a long time!!! How did I NOT see it before?! Real ball bearing luggage wheels! As you Fletch (movie) fans know..."Everything's ball bearings these days!". I bought two of thee 'kits' to rejuvenate my wife's favorite piece of luggage. Her luggage is fairly new, and not only did her old wheels wear out quickly (typical cheap luggage wheels), but they never rolled 'easy' after day two. Luggage with quality ball bearing wheels generally roll very nice through an airport. You can tell who's luggage rolls well by the smile on their face and that extra aire of confidence in their gate. Sure...life is good for 'them'! My luggage personal luggage has really wonderful ball bearing wheels and it practically pushes ME through the airport. Family members want to roll mine and me to take theirs. Now my wife's luggage should roll great too! It DOES...now with these new wheels installed! The kit is pretty complete, and honestly a tremendous value when you consider what you get. Comes with (obviously) 4 new rubber-coated plastic wheels molded around a ball bearing (non replaceable). A dremel grinding stone is included (to cut the original wheels' rivets off - more on that in a minute), a couple different length threaded shafts (6mm diameter), and a bunch of washers, spacer and adapters (to get up to 8mm if needed) ..which seems to be stainless steel so they won't rust up. And two allen wrenches. Plus a thin set of Michael Jackson gloves! There are a couple bonus high-viz zipper handles too!! I can see having the gloves for those who might find dealing with luggage wheels to be dirty and gross. But if you don't need them, they might come in handy next Halloween. I DID need to source about 6 more SS washers from the HW store, to get the wheels properly spaced out like I wanted them to be so they won't rub against the caster body. No biggie. But your luggage may not need extras: There are many different types of luggage wheels of different sizes and the mfgr does supply quite a few washers and spacers. You'll need two wheel kits if your luggage has 8 wheels ....which most do. The wheels are 50mm..the ones I replaced were a bit larger at 55mm. I plan to buy another kit to have 'spares'...in case one or two wheels flake-out. However, I might wait until after a couple trips to evaluate how the wheels are holding up in real life. You WILL need a Dremel tool or some kind of grinder tool to grind away your luggage's riveted wheel. Just be aware there will be some level of work/grinding/cutting to remove your old luggage wheels if the wheel axles are riveted in place ..which many are. It's not that big of a deal, but find someone to help you if you aren't sure you can do that (Neighbor, friend, etc). If your luggage wheels are bolted in place, then you'll need to source the tools to undo them. A fast drill with the included grinding stone "may" work, but i don't know. Worst case they sell larger, round grinding stones at the hardware store for a couple bucks, which will work on a drill..and should do the trick. Like I say, they supply a small pointed stone bit, for like a dremel tool. I used a 21" chainsaw to remove my wife's wheels and that made quick work of it! No...just kidding. I used a cordless Milwaukee #2889 4 1/2" angle grinder with a cutting disc on low speed ...with Michael Angelo precision, and the old rivets melted off quick & easy. That's a great angle grinder btw.. (shameless plug). One of the better purchases I've made (off Amazon of course). It's a fantastic tool, precision instrument ...worth every penny I paid. For the wheel installation process, give yourself some time. It actually takes a quite a while to find the right combination of washers and spacers to get the wheels spaced out and the new axle bolts ..and everything is tight from one end to the other. If you don't have enough washers in place so the bearing centers are 'tight', the wheels will be loose. So if your new wheels feel loose and wobbly, add more washers as needed so the center of the bearings are secured tight. Don't expect this to be a 1/2 job. It's going to take some time. It's a good activity to do while you're watching TV or maybe listening to ...say ...Michael Jackson. Maybe get the kids involved, they love to figure out and sort combinations of little things. It's not a job to start at 11:45pm the night before you are due to fly out for an important business trip. Plan ahead..for the grinding..and possibly needing a couple extra washers. But in the end it'll be worth it. Keep envisioning how cool you'll be struttin' down the airport isle with straight-up posture, one finger steering your BALL-BEARING-PRECISION luggage, maybe spinning it around in an effortless 360 every once in a while just to show off, maybe humming a few bars of "Billy Jean" with a confident smile on your face and a moonwalk in your step (in your mind) ...while other poor souls are bent over pushing a slug ...sneering at you wondering what's so *good* about YOUR life!!! LOL. Maybe start thinking of the perfect response for that day when a stranger remarks in surprise, "Wow! Your luggage really rolls Niiiiccee! Where did you get it?" Here's a suggestion, "Hey C'mon ...it's all ball bearings these days!" Ha ha. So yeah, plan ahead, take your time. You'll get it. The pay-off should be worth the effort.Back to the install .....The retaining screws come with a daub of dried thread locker on them. That may be enough. I didn't think there was quite enough friction on the screws in my kit as I wished, to keep them from possibly loosening FOR SURE. I added a small daub of liquid blue thread-locker (which I had around) to each screw (just a small amt) b/c I don't want my wife's wheels to come loose in some far-off airport when I'm not around. That would be worst case. It won't happen now. But blue TL will still allow the screws to be removed if need be. It's a belt and suspenders approach. I assure you if you see a person's luggage wheels fall off and a bunch of washers spread out across the airport isle and someone scream out like they're being attacked by a zombie, "OMG! My luggage WHEELS!! Someone Pleeeeze help me!!" ...it won't be my wife!! Ha ha. A small micro-daub of school glue on the threads would do the trick would also if needed. Yours may not need that, but pay attention durring assembly.IMPORTANT: Make sure you have the wheels spaced out and tightened down exactly how you want everything to be BEFORE you snap the wheel covers on. They snap on real TIGHT and will NOT be easy to remove. At ALL! Again, do all your final assembly and test roll it, take another look. Make adjustments if you need to ...Make sure it's all good, and THEN snap on the covers. That'll help avoid one headache (no I didn't make that mistake). That's pretty much it. These bearing'd wheels seem fairly 'tight' in terms of not a lot of wobble, once installed. At least new. They roll great. They are rubber-coated so they are low noise as well. My wife's luggage now rolls Niiiiiiccce ...across the kitchen floor. How long they last and hold up to the rigors of travel ..we'll see. I'll report back. It would have been nice if the bearings were larger diameter or sealed ..for greater strength/longevity. Care will go a long way to extending their lives. Keeping the wheels/bearings out of puddles, rain, dirt and trying to minimize abuse will definitely extend their lifespan. My wife loads her luggage up pretty heavy and travel is travel ....we'll know soon enough how they are holding up. I don't expect them to last forever. But now any worn wheels can easily be unbolted and replaced as needed ....like an Indy Car, but perhaps not as fast. And the bearings can be lubed with a drop of oil if need be.Hopefully this review helps you understand what you're getting into and how nice new wheels will for sure add that extra aire of confidence and joy to YOUR travels. :)Cheers!!

These are designed mostly as an easier replacement for luggage wheels than some of the kits that require more work. They are fairly straightforward to install, but they don't feel like they'll be a long-term solution, as they're lightweight, and the snap-together wheel cap seems like it could crack. I'm still happy to have them, though!

These are great. The kit comes with everything including slop proof gloves. Well matched parts for a precision fit. Enough spacers to get the right gap. Wheels have a good rubber outer ring which will las quite a while. Highly recommend.
