Unfortunately I only got to use these once. Not because there is anything wrong with them, just that I only caught one fish I needed them for. Worked good for what I needed. I didn’t get stuck by the spikes so all good.

The pliers did a great job for me. The holster has a mounting clip to attach to a belt or waistband. Instead of being situated where it would let the holster hang. It is located in the center of the holster and the holster just wants to tip over as the players are top heavy. And they fall out. The clip should be mounted at the top of the holster so the holster wants to hang vertically

This is a great, rugged plier that has a split ring tool (you can get with or without) and a nice line cutter. Really makes a difference in terms of not getting stuck when trying to get ahold of fish to take out hooks. I grab hook with these first and then get ahold of fish to work out the hooks. Line cutter is very good and well-located. The only thing I didn't like is that the holster has a belt clip that is placed in a spot where gravity wants to turn the pliers upside down and since it is on a swivel, that's what happens. I solved this problem with a zip tie around the swivel so the holster doesn't rotate anymore. The cord is also really nice so if you drop it by accident you don't have any risk of losing the pliers and also when you are holding the fish after getting out the hooks you can just drop the pliers and not worry about getting them in the holster. Not super cheap, but a really solid product and well worth the cost in my opinion.
