My dog loves this bed, uses it all year. This is the 3rd one I had to get in 2 years tho as the seams split. Will probably continue to replace it as needed just because she loves it so much.

I bought my 4th small size Cool Bed this week. The first one was purchased in 2007 for my Border Collie who was prone to heat strokes and who had to travel long distances in my AC less Echo to go to Agility Trials and Flyball tournaments. It worked so well that my husband bought 2 for his dogs. Unfortunately, all 3 were left on the roof of the truck one night and ended up run over by tractor trailers for a whole night. We found them on the side of the road the morning after. Only one survived, despite being slightly damaged. It's now 12 years old and starting to delaminate. It's the one that you see in this picture, in a flowered pillow case, under a teddy bear :) This is my 4 y.o. boy's bed. It's narrower than a twin size.Our youngest boy has a very light sleep and the heat really bothers him. We were contemplating just going for it and installing the AC in our house... When I thought about our valiant CoolBed... So we tried it: when Nico is hot, he lays on the cool bed. When he is cool enough, he lays on the other half of his bed. Works like a charm, he sleeps through the night. Yay! But as I was saying, the CoolBed is now starting to die... And even though there is a pad under the bedsheet in case of "accidents", we wanted a new one.Now be aware, these are not for puppies or dog with anxiety issues who could chew or scratch the bed. It won't survive. But with dogs who understand a bed's purpose, it's awesome. Fill it with water and the remove the excess air with the valve until water want to come out and that's it. I regularly change the pillow case, and clean the outside of the cool bed with soapy water now and then. Another tip... You don't need a huge cool bed for your dog. 17"x24" was perfect for Border Collies... And it fits in a pillow case :)

Quiero decir que el producto es realmente bueno, es lo que se anuncia y la idea me parece genial.Tengo un par de bulldog frances, los cuales suelen sufrir un poco mas en temporadas de calor y por tal motivo adquirí este producto.El pero, es que a mis perros no les pareció tan genial, realmente nunca quisieron acostarse en la cama y solo lo utilizaban para orinar, no se por que motivo aun sabiendo que no pueden orinar dentro de la casa orinaban el tapete. Así que nunca cumplió con las expectativas.

la primera vez que llene de agua la camita, se hizo bolas el relleno, y no hubo forma de poder arreglarlo, ya que por el agua se deformo y por el pequeño orificio imposible de sacarlo y tratar de arreglarlo.

UPDATE Jan 15 2014: This bed rocks!!! We have used the large size cooling bed for about 6 months now. Our standard poodle regularly travels with us. And this bed has to go too. Our dog loves this bed, sleeps on it every night (plus day napping) and it keeps him cool and comfortable. So far we have not had any leakage and think that is partly because we reduced the amount of water the bed holds. We also try to protect the outer plastic. A sheet on top was the trick to get him to use the bed initially. Treats helped make the bed a rewarding place to be. Currently, our dog appears to find significant relief from his laryngeal paralysis symptoms using this cooling bed. To make traveling work for us, we reduced internal water from 6 to about 4 gallons so that the bed folds into quarters without stressing the seams. Leaving remaining water in the bed and being careful to keep the internal pad close to the corners, we fold the long side in half first. Next the short sides are folded. Then keeping the closed water fill valve toward the top of the suitcase, we carefully slide it into a wheeled carry-on zippered bag. We execute the reverse to set it up upon arrival, put a towel under it and cover it with a sheet. We have not adjusted the water amount inside the bed for about 4 months. UPDATE 15 Sep 13: Since the August update, I've carefully emptied the bed's water into the bathtub. 6 gallons of water weighs approx 48 lbs, so it was heavy, but by sliding it into the tub and using a chair to create gravity it emptied. The internal pad remained wet, but it was still manageable to pack and transport to our home (spouse temporarily works out of state and we take turns traveling). I was very careful to make sure the internal mat stayed in the corners based upon other reported problems. I refilled it with 4.5 gallons assuming that about 1.5 gallons remained in the internal pad (no leaks) and as one reviewer suggested, covered it with a sheet. Wish I had tried the sheet earlier. My dog slept so comfortably on it - no waking up panting. He's been sleeping on it consistently for almost a week. He seems to recognize that it is a perpetual cool spot. I'll be purchasing a second one for downstairs. If the bed starts leaking, I'll provide that information, but today, I updated my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Our dog is happy and so are we. I appreciate all the hints and tips that other purchasers provided. 29 Aug 13: Originally I gave this a one star for non delivery - next day delivery paid for. The cooling pad is expected to arrive 5 days after it was ordered. I will provide an update as to how our dog uses and enjoys it once it arrives. 4 Sep 13: This cooling pad arrived yesterday evening, day five following ordering. The delay was because of the holiday, but that's why I ordered next day delivery. Accompanying instructions indicate a calibrated amount of water should be added. The only tool I had was a 1 liter water bottle. The bed was actually easy to fill and prepare for use. The fill valve is easy to unplug and plug. The plug fits snugly and clicks into place. The mouth of the water bottle fit inside the valve. I have hand arthritis and have lost strength in holding objects. It was fairly easy to fill using the water bottle (24 fills). I was able to slide the bed to its intended spot. We have the large size cooling pad and it appears it could be managed into the tub and emptied. The trick was getting our dog to use it. Our dog was diagnosed last week with laryngeal paralysis and he pants if he gets too stressed or hot. A stressful trip to the Vet ER prompted the next day delivery order. Anyway, I used a couple of treats to entice him to the mat and then put him in a down stay on it. It took a few repetitions. He would stay a few minutes and then leave, looking for a cooler spot. This afternoon, he will not leave the mat except for water, treats, or a walk. He seems a lot more comfortable than on the tile floor, stretches out on it, is not panting, and seems pretty happy. He has not slept overnight on it and I'm hoping that tonight he will. Our goal is to provide as much comfort as possible during the remaining time we have him. I upgraded my rating to 4 stars today. Tomorrow, I'll update what happens overnight. If he sleeps on it, I plan to purchase a second one.
