The hot water re-circulation can save water by cutting down the cold water you need to dispense until you get hot water. There are two strategies to approach this. One is to have customized system to sense the hot water line locally and install the re-circulation pump close to appliances. When the pump is activated, an electronically controlled valve opens, allowing water flow from hot to cold. The traditional system install a pump close to where water heater is and increase the hot water line pressure constantly or on timed schedule. On the appliance or faucet side, this sensor valve is installed. The sensor valve opens once the hot side cools down, allow higher pressured water from hot to go into cold water line to re-circulate. I don't like this centralized pump system because it increases the water pressure throughout the system and the pump works when it's not needed. With technical advances, now we have smart outlet and switches, I can set my pump to be on all the time and supply power when I need water re-circulation and stops when re-circulation is no longer needed. This sensor valve has good build quality and it works as expected. Sensor valve can also be replaced by a smart switch or outlet plus electronically controlled valve.

Used this to replace an old plastic temperature bypass valve. This replacement valve works like a charm and came with the correct converter fittings for me to connect the existing water lines. No leaks and the temperature sensor valve operates as intended.Bypass valves are so handy and I believe every house should have at least one installed with a recirculating pump to drastically improve hot water dispense time and cut water waste when waiting for hot water to dispense at the tap.Overall very happy with this replacement temperature bypass valve and the stainless steel is an added bonus for structural integrity and visual appeal.

Very easy to install. I had a tankless water heater installed about 3 years ago. I didn't realize the recirculating sensor value on the supply line under the sink actually had to be replaced after a few years. So, when the original one went bad - I was getting hot water in the cold water faucets - i decided to replace the one i had. The price is great on this item. To purchase this item at a supply house or at a big box store would be much more expensive. Hopefully, this one will last at least as long as the plastic one i replaced.

Got this is install my tankless point of use hot water tank. This saves a lot of time and issues when you are doing this install. Function as it should with no issues.

I have hot water recirculating pump systems in my apartments and this stainless steel replacement sensor valve by MERLRR performs just like the plastic OEM version but is so much better because it is stainless steel instead of plastic. On top of that, it actually costs less as well. If your sink, shower, tub, etc is no longer providing instant hot water but the pump is still working, then it likely is a bad sensor valve. With the addition of a couple of hoses, you can also use this replacement valve to set up a second instant hot water zone.
