This attaches firmly to my mic stand without nary a wobble, and I put my 10" tablet in it, which is held securely in-place by the round spools on either end. I have to take the tablet out of it's case for the spools to get a good bite, but that's minor. I just used it for a gig and it was great. You're able to adjust it in several different ways, giving you a lot of control over the angle. There are a few plastic parts that might have been better made out of metal, but then again it might have ended up being too heavy. The construction is solid, and as long as I don't abuse it or drop it on concrete, it should last for a long time. The plastic pieces will eventually wear out, and some of the adjustment knobs will eventually strip out... but at this price point, it's a very good value for the money and extremely useful for someone who has trouble memorizing his lyrics! Definitely recommend it.

I bought this after owning one from a big-box instrument store. You can buy three of these for the price of one at the "Wall O' Fancy Guitars" stores. Same design, holds my iPad Mini, 10.5" tablet and have used it to hold my laptop (the laptop doesn't "lock in" like a tablet or large phone so be careful), and my large phone. Please bear in mind that the mount is a reinforced nylon material formed over a metal-threaded insert (same as the name brands!) and can be stripped if you get overly-enthusiastic when tightening to the stand. I have bought three of these, one for myself as a backup and two as gifts to bandmates. We live by these while learning new tunes on tab sites and when using G-Band etc. to record. Controls at your fingertips and no more laying your expensive tablets on the floor or balancing it on a chair or stool.One pic shows the holder mounted on a straight stand, the other is my stand where I mounted the holder to the top of a straight, weighted stand and used the boom arm from a different stand, attached to the clamp that comes with the holder, and then clamped that to the straight stand for my mic. Works great and is super solid! Its literally the price of couple packs of strings. I love mine and you will too!

I purchased this to replace a disappointing tripod I had purchased months earlier. That item had great reviews, and mostly good build quality, but used cheap plastic for the braces connecting the legs to the center pole assembly, and for the center pole assembly as well, so one of the braces snapped off after a few weeks of minimal use.I was looking for alternate tripods, but many (not all) had used the same cheap plastic/resins in that critical part; and many of the tabletop stands had grips that didn't open wide enough to hold my pad on the top and bottom when in portrait mode, and I wasn't comfortable with my iPad being gripped only by its sides in portrait mode - just didn't seem secure enough to hold the pad without the grips being clamped extra tight, which could warp any screen protector or case.Then I came across this, which seemed like a great option because I already own a mic stand. It's fantastic so far. In fact, even if for non-musicians who don't already own a mic stand, I think buying an inexpensive boom mic stand and attaching this very affordable holder is a more versatile option than most tablet stands or tripods.The only caveat is that unfortunately, I have to remove my case to use it, as the grooves that hold the pad securely are not wide enough to accommodate my Zugu case (may work on thinner cases, though - particularly ones without a cover that folds back). Anyway, worthwhile tradeoff, so far.

Hallelujah, finally got a holder for my iPad Pro whilst it remains in its safety case. Perfect for music.
