This is the second of this type of laser measuring device I've reviewed. While this one isn't as sleek or "modern" looking as the other one, I find that it works well, is easy to use, and it has clear instructions. The screen is also nice and clear, with nice contrast.I haven't tried the many different functions, but the few I have used (basic measuring, level, and angle) have all been easy to use and accurate. Of the three I've tried, the level (x,y) has been the most helpful. I've actually used it balanced on the back of a drill to ensure that I'm staying level to my work surface as I drill a hole. I do wish that the level had a way to zero it, but I haven't found a way to do that so far. However being able to zero the level isn't an advertised feature, so I can't complain about its absence. All in all, I'm very happy with this laser level. It comes with a little pouch that is handy for storing so it's kept safe when I throw it into my tool bag.Five out of five stars.

At first I wasn’t sure I needed a laser measure. I mean, I have a tape measure. But then I thought, what the heck, I’ll give it a try. I am so glad I did.Turns out a laser measure isn’t just an expensive novelty. Nor is it only for the professional builder. The day it arrived at my door, I put it to immediate use finding the perfect spot for hanging a picture on my office wall. Omg was it ever useful! Instead of fighting to span the wall with a continually sagging and buckling tape measure—no one was around to hold up the other end—I pressed a button on the laser measure. That gave me the precise width of the wall. Then I used the laser measure to find the halfway mark. And, voilà, the picture is perfectly centered.More and more home uses are springing to mind. So, yes, it’s a fun toy, but it’s also a useful one.

The Laser Measurer is accurate for Long Distance and is great because it is rechargeable. It performs well against higher priced Laser Measurers.

I’m normally not a big fan of instruction manuals, preferring to fly by the seat of my pants when I first get my hands on a product, playing around with its settings and putting it through its paces until I reach the point where I want to know if I’m doing things right or to spot undiscovered features the manufacturer might have included. Let me say up front that this is a product where “RTFM” definitely applies. The simple fact is that this device does so much that relies on pushing sequences of buttons or holding them for particular lengths of time that you pretty much have to familiarize yourself with everything before you attempt to use it, or like me you will discover that the little green laser makes a better cat toy than a measuring device. Fortunately the included “manual” — more of a two-sided pamphlet, actually — does a good job of walking you through everything with helpful screen illustrations and button icons to guide you on your measuring journey. The most basic function you’ll probably use and want to know is a simple distance measurement between points A and B. You hit the little red star at the top of the control panel to turn on the laser. Use the unit button to switch between feet, inches or meters. Hit the reference key to select whether your measurement starts from the back of the laser pointer (the default) or the front. Place the back of the laser against your starting point, aim the green dot at some distant object, hit the red star button again, and the machine instantly displays the distance. Honestly, it took me a while before I was able to master this, but once I did I was excitedly measuring everything in the room (as well as annoying the cat.)I did not have an opportunity to test the accuracy of this device up to its stated range of 393.7 feet, although I can concur with some other reviewers that its accuracy at extremely short distances might be lacking. If you are inside of 6 inches then you might be better off with a good old tape measure. I won’t even get into all the other capabilities this device offers, including measurements of volume, area, angles, continuous measurements, mathematical calculations or historical queries. If you are in need of such routines… RTFM.I undoubtedly fall into the category of casual user for this device, potentially needing it for a quick measurement or two on a weekend project, so I can’t speak for the folks who are mesmerized by tech gadgets and will likely spend hours putting it through its paces building rocket ships or engineering superhighways. But if you are like me, you will probably get frustrated by all the button pushing necessary to perform these functions. This appears to be a quality product with good battery life, and the included carrying strap and storage bag make it handy to take with you at a job site. If you need something with the many features it offers, this one might be for you.
