This is a style of sock I enjoy that basically comes up to your ankle bone.I’ve had some brands that go the whole “almost not there” route and those tend to wear quickly in my walking shoes. These have a bit more bulk on the sole, and I like it. They also have a strip across the bottom that provides a little extra lift for arch support, which seems to keep the sock from bunching.They do feel like they run a tough smaller than other socks, so be aware of that if you have larger feet. For comparison, mine are US men’s 10 wide. I’m not sure yet from a durability standpoint if that will cause them to wear quicker because they stretch or not.I can’t really speak to the moisture wicking, keep your feet cool part. It’s 30°F so my feet are plenty cool.

I don't like the normal size "ankle" socks because my shoe will then chafe the back of my ankle where the shoe meets bare skin. Even if I start out with the ankle sock pulled higher, it always settles to where bare skin touches the sock. I wanted a pair of athletic socks that went above my ankle bone but not too high as I don't like the feel of a sock around my calf either. So I usually wear regular socks that I then roll down to my shoe.I ordered these to try. These are quality athletic socks that are the perfect ankle height to avoid the problems I described, and they are indeed very comfortable. Not too thick, and not too thin. After exercising my shoe remains dry, so I know these are doing their job of wicking away sweat. I'm pretty happy with these and happy to give 5-stars.

I'll get this out of the way up front: these are expensive socks. Even at their cheapest price in the last six months, you're looking at ten bucks per pair. Are they worth it? Depending on your needs, actually maybe.I wear a US men's size 13 shoe, and the large size here (recommended for US men's sizes 8-12) fits me snugly but comfortably. I imagine someone on the smaller end of that rather large size spectrum will find these fit a little large on them.I'm a big fan of the seam placement on these, which runs over where your toes meet your feet rather than at the toe tips. Given the extra padding in the area anyway, it makes for a very comfortable wear. In fact, basically the only part of the sock that isn't padded is the back half of the top of the foot, where the ventilation happens.Now, these are undoubtedly stellar socks. But are they worth ten bucks a pair? If you're using them while you're being particularly active, these will do a good job of keeping your feet cool and comfortable while minimizing you shoe rubbing on your feet, so in those cases I would say yes. I have found them very good for everyday lounging as well, so if you're the kind of person that splurges on comfy socks, they're a good compromise between the really expensive ones and regular tube socks from a company like Fruit of the Loom or Hanes. They're a premium purchase, for sure, but I actually feel you get your money's worth here.
