Found it a little wobbly - don't expect it to last very long

Since I had no experience replacing screens, I debated over getting this tool or one with the metal rollers. After reading a review by a professional who said it is easy to rip the screen with a metal roller, I chose this one.Since I was replacing aluminum screens, I was a little taken aback when I received it and noticed the package said, "For fiberglass screens." But I decided to give it a try anyway.Even though the front of the package specified the tool was for fiberglass screens, the back of the package gave directions for both fiberglass and aluminum screens. The directions for aluminum were very helpful.Instead of working around the perimeter of the frame (as directed for fiberglass), it said you should do the top and bottom of an aluminum screen, then cut the screen across the outside corners before pushing the retainer splines into the sides.Following those directions, and working slowly and carefully, the first screen turned out beautifully. I found out why the packaged specified tool use with fiberglass screen. The aluminum screen had quickly chewed up the edge of the concave roller. But I figured the tool would last at least as long as it took to do 2 more screens.Heady with success, I decided I could finish the next 2 screens a little more quickly than I had the first one. I proceeded to ruin 2 pieces of screen by applying too much pressure and going too fast. Luckily, I had more screen material than I needed for the job, so I cut 2 more pieces to size and finished the last two screens successfully by slowing down and following the directions which state: "Short, even strokes work best."By the time I got to the last one, the aluminum had chewed the nylon concave roller to the point it was looking more flat than concave, but it still worked fine and I'm sure I the tool has enough life for many more screen replacements.I almost removed one star since the item description does not mention that the tool is for use with fiberglass screen, but I have no doubt that I would have messed up more than 2 screens if I had been using a tool with metal rollers since the contact that was wearing away the edge of the nylon roller would have been cutting through the screen. And my results were definitely worth the small price of this tool.

I used to use a screwdriver when installing new screens. I was able to rescreen a 36"x30" frame from teardown to completion in 5 mins with this tool

I THOUGHT THIS WOULD FEEL CHEAP AND WORK CHEAPLY BECAUSE ITS PLASTIC BUT IT ACTUALLY WORKED VERY WELL. I LIKE THAT ONE SIDE HAS THE CHANEL FOR THE RUBBER SPLINE AND THE OTHER SIDE DOESNT SO U CAN PUSH THE SCREEN DOWN INTO THE FRAME. I HAD A METAL AND WOOD ONE BEFORE AND IT WOULD ALWAYS SLICE THE SCREEN WHILE ROLLING THE SPLINE DOWN. I HAVENT HAD THAT ISSUE WITH THIS ROLLER YET. I'VE DONE 5 SCREENS SO FAR AND NO SLICES. FULL STARS!!
