Make sure you measure the "backset" needed, maybe you need their product #10546 instead.

This looks fantastic and was easy to install. It is a great value for the money. It gives me comfort to know, it will strengthen my door security. The area of the door this item covers, is the weakest part of the door. I will definitely buy this again, if I ever move. And, I will highly recommend it to my friends and family.

This is a well made door guard. This is made for door lock bores that are 5.25-6 inches apart which might be different than your door setup so be sure to measure the latch/bolt holes in your doorframe or at the door first before ordering. This stainless steel door guard is an excellent addition to your door security. This guard not only reinforces the door itself but it also prevents unauthorized lock picking at the jam.The instructions were a bit unclear with regards to installing this on your door. You obviously have to remove both your lock handle and deadbolt. BUT...keep the internal latch and deadbolt assemblies screwed to your door along with their original plates. Just remove the screws That hold them in as you will use them later when installing the door guard over them. This door guard WILL go over those latch plates (referring to the jamb side of the door where the patches and bolts come out of...each has their own plate that is screwed in and flush with the jamb side of the door). By installing this over the plates and screwing in the plate screws through the jamb side plate holes, it makes installation much easier AND it will ensure that the door guard will be flush to the jamb.I did not chisel/notch my door to install this. I literally placed it over the door, installed it jamb side first then used the screws to install the side plates. Worked like a charm! The door shuts without rubbing. If it rubs, you’ll likely have to chisel your door jamb to get it to sit flush. Use a dremel...trust me...so much easier.Okay so what are the cons? It’s stainless steel...fingerprints are a thing for people with OCD like me. It’s for my shop though so it’s going to get dirty so it is what it is. Looks great though!Another con is that they don’t address weatherproofing. They should because while this fits the door nicely, it’s not sealed. It is possible for moisture to seep in and get between the guard and door. If your door is wood like mine is, use a bead of outdoor weatherstripping at the top and along the vertical lines for the surface that is exposed to the elements. This ensures that water will not intrude and become an issue later. This was a great purchase and I enhanced it with a fantastic door lock / deadbolt combo that I got here on Amazon. It’s a fantastic security solution and I am very satisfied with this purchase.

This seems like a good quality product that will make my door more secure.Another reviewer posted that the holes did not match up with standard door holes. This manufacturer does make a similar product for a door where the two holes for the lock are closer together, but that is not this one. I think that reviewer either purchased the wrong product or is leaving a review on the wrong product. Either way, the specific specs are available and you should check them out before buying. This one perfectly matched the standard cut outs on my front entry door. It looks beautiful with my matching hardware that I purchased separately. The instructions were a little confusing, but using this product is pretty self-explanatory. Remove your hardware, set this over the holes, screw in the screws that go in the doorjam, reinstall your hardware, screw in the screws that go on the face of the door. This does add thickness to the door (obviously), so you may need to Sandown part of the doorjamb July want to close properly, and it still might fit more tightly because of the extra material that is now on the outside of your door.

These are not only good extra security, but they look nice. All of my hardware is oil rubbed bronze, so I was really happy with the finish on this. Installation ease will depend on your door. I installed these on 2/3 doors. The other door is going to need some chiseling to get the door to shut. I was relieved that it fit the door knobs on all the doors. The metal is pretty thick and I feel much better knowing my doors can't be kicked in (I also installed strips on hinges and door jamb).
