Handy USB that allows for the use of USB-C and USB-A. The stick does get a bit warm (but not hot) and is made of hard plastic.Out of the box it's formatted as ExFat. There is some confusion though. After deleting the Sandisk software files MacOS saw the storage at 499GB available. Windows saw 465Gb available. The speeds were slightly below the advertised speeds. Claiming up to 900 MB/s write and 1000 MB/s read.On USB A 3.2 Gen 1 (Windows) it writes at an average of 330 MB/s.On Thunderbolt 5 (MacOS) it writes at an average of 700 MB/s tested with a 46Gb file. But I've also see it write at 340 MB/s with a 15Gb file. Both BRAW files. With Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.2 Gen 2(Windows) the average write was 740 MB/s with a 46GB file.Black Magic Disk Test results were as following,The write speeds with a Thunderbolt 5 port was an average of 700 MB/s write and 840 MB/s read. For smaller sizes like 5GB it will start at 1000MB/s but drop. I've seen it drop as far as 360MB/sUsing the USB A in Black Magic Disk Test it gets an average of 399 MB/s write and 431 MB/s read.On Thunderbolt 3 (Windows) it was writing between 740 and 830 MB/s, while read was between 800 and 870 MB/s.The longer you let it run in the Speed Test the higher the speeds got, at least on Windows. It definitely seems to suffer from speed dips.I also saw it dip to 40MB/s writing a file on one of my USB A ports after a few seconds. It shows it's very pick on the host device.

The SanDisk 2TB Extreme PRO Dual Drive USB is an absolute beast of a flash drive. It’s a bit bulkier than the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Luxe, but with 2TB of storage and up to 1000MB/s speeds, the added size makes sense—and honestly, it’s still pocketable and sleek enough. See my photos for size comparison between the Luxe, this Extreme PRO, and a pen.Performance-wise, it really delivers. In my disk speed tests, it consistently hits around 800MB/s read/write, and real-world large file transfers confirm those numbers. It’s super fast, and noticeably runs cooler than the Luxe, which is a nice bonus during long copy sessions. While the Luxe is already a fantastic drive, this model feels like a step up across the board. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but when you consider that this little USB stick offers performance and storage on par with my Samsung T7 2TB SSD—at a similar price point—it’s pretty amazing. I got this at $149 during Springs Sale btw.Highly recommended if you want high-speed, high-capacity portable storage in a compact form. Totally happy with this purchase.
