It's a pretty plain top, not a lot of elaborate lace or ruffles, unlike a lot of other Scarlet Darkness items, but I like it. Sometimes you want to be a bit subtle.It is a loose weave and cotton, which is great for late summer/early fall. The fabric has a nice hand to it and it fits well--I was worried that the bodice below the yoke would get too baggy saggy, but it doesn't. It falls straight from the yoke, and obviously needs to be tucked in to look best.Honestly, I'm planning to wear it with jeans as much as with skirts. Very versatile and the color is nice. I would recommend washing with light colors--red cotton, especially, tends to be a bit bleedy.

This cotton blouse looks and fits just like I wanted and expected it to, and the color is true to the online photos. I am 5’6 and weigh 178 pounds and I ordered a size large in this blouse. I didn’t iron the blouse before taking the posted photo but I’m sure it will look even nicer ironed. The material is cotton and the overall quality of the blouse is good. Thumbs up on this long sleeve cotton blouse.

I am 5’4/150 pounds and I ordered a Large based off the measurements on the Amazon selling page. This shirt looks just as advertised and it’s very comfortable! I could have ordered a medium but a “Large” is fine. If you want your shirt a little less loose then you should order down.

First note, this is a lovely shirt, it's seems very well made.The material is light and feels like natural linen. Note it is slightly sheer, so some kind of slip (or at least a skin tone bra) are recommended.It is actually true to size - if unsure, I'd recommend going with the smaller range of your usual size.The XL is true US XL - 2XL is an actual 2XL.I'm sure I'm not alone as someone who often orders an XL and then is faced with it still being too tight somewhere. For me it is the waist or upper arms usually that are too tight and the rest fits. I'm normally a US size 16 on top and a US 16/18 on the bottom. I am around 5ft 8in. I'd actually ordered two of this shirt, one in XL and one in 2XL. I bought one in red in 2XL before and it seemed too large, but I was otherwise very pleased with it, so I thought I'd order cream in both sizes, and return whichever one didn't fit as well this time. (I washed the red shirt so there was no returning that one!). The XL fit was similar to the XXL, as in there was still plenty of room to move, but the shoulders and sleeves definitely fit better in XL for me, and there was more of a "poof" at the shoulders. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was still plenty of room in the waist, bust, and upper arms with the XL, where I often run into fit issues with most shirts. I could sit comfortably in the XL without it becoming skin tight around the waist. The cloth covered buttons were also really beautiful, and the little bit of frill at the sleeve and collar was a really nice touch. My Little House on the Prairie and history-nerd side was very happy! Is it 100% historically accurate? Probably not. Is it a nice quality shirt, with a very Victorian feel? Absolutely!

My daughter likes to wear this when she is auditioning for acting roles that are period pieces. She says that it is a nice complementary color without blending too much into a background. She says it is a little big for a small. She is a size 4. The sleeves are the proper length though and not too short. The fabric is lightweight.
