I’ve purchased a number of sun hats from this company. This was my first rain hat. Love the design of being able to fold in half for travel in suitcase to avoid bending the brim. Repels rain very well without dripping.

Through-hiking: The act of fit people carrying a pack walking hundreds of miles for weeks in the elements. I purchased this particular hat for my through-hiking son and he won't go on one of his adventures without it because, at altitude, the sun is brutal not to mention all of the precipitation. He has logged 268 and 523 miles through-hiking two very challenging trails and his description of this hat..."Dad this hat totally slaps!"...now, I'm no linguist but the intonation and exuberance he said that indicates a high level of satisfaction with this hat. When out there, he wears this hat daily. By the way, it looks like a hat that has gone through war and continues to block sun and shed water. It has been a required attendant to many minor hikes (that might be devastating to anyone in my age bracket) and I believe it has been given an appropriate pet name like a family member. I can attest to the efficacy, quality, and useful design of this hat. It's "pretty work". I highly recommend this hat.

We looked at storm hats that were much more expensive and this one is just as good at half the price. Good quality! Adjustable too. I’d suggest getting one size bigger and adjust to fit.

Wore this for a couple weeks in the Rockies and it did what I wanted. Great coverage, kept my whole face in the shade so I didn't need sunscreen and protected my neck. I mean, it's not a style hat, but it does everything I needed. Folds up nice and flat for storage, too.
