Everything included in this kit is created to set you up for success! Wide mouth jar makes accessing start easy for baking and feeding. Cloth cover allows start to breath and screw on lid is perfect for cold storage. The band included can be used to mark your starters beginning level and includes day and time marks to remind you the last time the start was fed. The included brush makes cleanup super easy and the spatula allows sides of the jar to be scraped clean and everything mixed perfectly. It even includes a stick-on thermometer so you know how warm/cool your start is to optimize feeding peaks. Recipes are included. This is a great kit and well worth the money spent to make sourdough start maintenance a breeze.

Great instructions with step by step each day. The extras of measuring chips, scraper, cleaning brush and more are an added bonus. Easy to read with see through glass

I’m currently in my sourdough era and I love this starter jar. The size is perfect, the quality is great (thick and durable) and I absolutely adore the little bread design on it. (Truth be told, I purchased this jar over others because of the cute design! But in the end, I love the quality too.) The addition of the narrow spatula (which I LOVE!) and the cleaning brush, along with the feeding marker band and scoop, are all a great bonus and such an added value. Highly recommend if you’re in your sourdough era!

What is not to love about this kit?!? It seriously has everything you need to be a sourdough pro.For starters, the instructions are simple yet thorough AND they are printed on durable paper so it can be on the kitchen counter without getting destroyed. It also tells you what to do or expect throughout the whole process and how to tell if your starter is ready!The jar is sturdy, large, and easy to read. It also comes with an awesome thermometer sticker so you understand what is happening to your yeasty goodness. The band that you put on the jar measures how much it rises and for some reason it brings me more joy than when I measure my kid’s growth each year. It also has a cool cloth cover with elastic edges that is easy to slip on and off.Finally, the tools are awesome. My favorite thing is the spatula. It is perfect for scraping the sides of the jar and is the perfect length.All in all, this is the perfect gift for anyone, including yourself. If you already have starter, it is great to use instead of the old mason jar because it not only works great but also looks good.
