When it worked, it worked well, I was able to switch between two machines and have actual 1080 display, not some 1024x768 nonsesne. Now almost two years (bought august 4 2020,) the usb ports are dead, it started on port 1 but port two worked for about two months, and finally that port has stopped working as well, still have display, just no input on either port. the hot key switching still works, but won't send input to pc's. I messed with it and tested usb ports on the pc's which were fine with either keyboard or mouse connected directly, then changed out the cables from kvm to the pc's and still not working. So the KVM switch has gone bad and I'm out the 80 or 90 dollars and left with a non-functioning product. It's just more garbage that amazon allows to be peddled on here.Don't buy this, spend the extra money and get known good brand.

Works beautifully, I'm using it to share my keyboard and razer wireless mouse (viper ultimate with dock) as well as a monitor between my gaming pc and my work pc. It is working fine, with zero perceived latency, except for the fact that both its "keyboard" and "mouse" ports are useless for my purposes. Why? The "keyboard" port is designed to listen to specific "magic combo" key combinations that allows you to change from one pc to the other through your keyboard and not through the kvm button. While in theory this sounds nice, in practice it means that there is a very noticeable latency in your keyboard input and the associated response in the pc (might be fine honestly for office work but since I'm sharing this with my gaming pc, it definitely is not acceptable for gaming). The "mouse" port does not insert any noticeable lag, but for some reason does not pass all device specific info to the PC (as such my pcs never detected my viper as any sort of particular mouse, just a generic one, which means I couldn't use my profiling software on my gaming pc to change dpi settings on the fly which are of use to me while gaming). Again this might be totally ok for office work but if you have one gaming pc in the mix here it's just a no go.The solution? The USB 2.0 port. I hooked up a tiny USB hub on it (non powered) and I hooked up both my mouse and keyboard there. No lag on the keyboard, the mouse is detected on both pcs with all its bells and whistles. People had warned me against a kvm, the lag, and the horrible gaming experience but honestly while using it through this port, I sense zero added latency. The only thing I'm not sure of is if my vipers dock charges it as fast as it would on a direct to pc connection without going through that mini hub, but it does charge and there are not disconnect issues while in use.No comments on the monitor sharing. It works as expected. Switching is pretty much instant. All in all I would recommend this product. I'm just deducting one star due to having to go through undocumented and unexpected ways to get the best use out of it, but it can be done at little inconvenience.

I purchased this device after trying one of the inexpensive ones that are powered via the USB connection. This one is much more robust in that it does not impact the screen display. The less expensive one made my laptop think one of the screens had bee disconnected when I switched to the other computer. This led to undesirable behavior like reorganizing where all my windows showed on the desktop. Additionally the less expensive switch would frequently lock up. This switch does not have either of these problems. It takes a couple seconds to switch and when it does switched everything is fine. I have used it for several days now and am very happy.

I use this at home on my personal laptop and work laptop together with a common wireless keyboard and mouse. display switch within 2 sec, mouse cursor switch almost real time. I press Scroll Lock + Scroll Lock + Page Down to switch back and forth. No problem since, it has been a month.

This could have been the #1 dual hdmi kvm had it not been for a few oversights.update - 2years after - USB port is dead and keyboard port keeps disconnecting... too bad :/pros:- 4k@60z works well- solid build quality. with mounting brackets and all- fast switching, keeps the video signal alive.- single usb cable for each pc- multiple switching options.- reasonable price.Cons:- APPLE KEYBOARD NOT SUPPORTED, GLITCHES OUT ( works fine if you hook it up in the "usb" port ) and hotkey "scroll lock" doesn't exist on apple keyboards.- Supplied hdmi cables are not high speed and doesn't support 4k@60z- remote didn't come with "coin" battery.- tech support didn't respond yet
