Works perfect. Easy to install and the app helps you link up your other smart items if you want. The app is also a diagnostic tool allowing you to check speeds. I was spending $20 mo using my providers router or $240 yr rental so the cost savings are huge here!

This is an AMAZING Mesh router system! I have never had an easier network setup- EVER! There is an app you download that essentially does all the technical work and just prompts you to do what you need to do to set everything up. That is so cool! The app has so many functions as well- like limiting kiddos screen time or specific devices getting the most speed when there is a lag. I cannot say enough good things about this wireless router!

System has been flawless for almost a year. I did have an issue where it went red and I could not get to connect or get signal after messing with it for hours. I finally reinstalled all 5 units and got them all back online again. I'm not sure if the auto update screwed it up or what, but I fixed them, and all is well in the world again.

This Wi-Fi 6 ready mesh system is as easy as it gets to set up. Only thing I didn't like is that you must create an account with TP-Link to sign into the mobile Deco app, but once that is set, the setup is a breeze. It took me about 15 minutes to get up an running. If you are not entirely comfortable with computer/networking, it will take longer due to the terminology and features as you learn along the way, but the app helps cut down on time tremendously. It has dual 2.5G Ethernet ports, which is important if you are connecting other devices such as a NAS (think CCTV) and modem. It would be preferable to have additional ports, but in this small form factor and for most households, and you add a second (or more) Deco unit(s) wirelessly, 2 is plenty. The wireless is Wi-Fi 6 ready (not enabled by default) and dual band, 2.4G and 5G with the option to utilize a guest network and also an IoT network with separate SSID and password (2.4G only). My favorite feature is the Network Optimization feature that scans your network for Wi-Fi interference and changes the channel to the best available channel to avoid network interference. This is a big issue in densely populated environments such as apartments and large cities. There are subscription based services available such as web protection, intrusion prevention, and IoT protection, but I have opted not to use these services. After heavy usage and fiddling, I've concluded that this product is good for most households. There are some lagging in my wireless cameras, but most of my other devices (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, smartphones, tablets) have had consistent bandwidth. All in all, an easy to use product that isn't perfect but feature rich value minded alternative to the more expensive system like the Amazon eero 6e.

Fairly easy to set up with the app, but you have to go through the whole setup as a regular router before you can switch it to an access point.I use it as an access point and it's fine. So I can't speak to any of the features the Deco app has or how this works as a router. It is limited though. You can't choose the wifi channels or channel width. It has a utility that scans and selects channels, but you can't choose. So if you're advanced users you might get frustrated. It does an ok job choosing but it's really not good that it doesn't let you configure it.It's definitely fast and one of the few access points you'll find on the market with 2.5gbe backhaul, especially at its price point. The wifi speeds are fast, but I wish the signal was a little stronger. You probably want one in each room if you want the fastest speeds possible. The minute you go to the next room or get 10-20ft away the speed goes down by 1/3 to 1/2. This is still fast for wifi. In my testing the speed was 1.3gbps within 10ft and 800mbps on the other side of the wall in the next room. 500mbps in that same room on the other end maybe 20ft away total with a wall.I think it's somewhat typical of wifi and the wifi 6 frequency, but I think it could be better. I think mesh wifi systems are designed to make you need a bunch. In a 2,000 - 3,000 sq.ft. home you'll probably need 3 if not more depending on walls and obstacles. IF you want top speeds. You'll be fine with probably just 2 if you're ok with speeds around 100mbps.You'll probably want this one if 2.5gbe backhaul is important to you. Otherwise it's average in my opinion. You could certainly do worse.
