Easily and straightforwardly removed crank with stripped threads.

The crank arm threads had unfortunately been stripped during attempted removal using a normal tool.I was nearly put off buying this excellent tool by the negative reviews but very glad I wasn't as this is a quality tool and it got the crank off easily.The method I used was:I thoroughly scraped out the bits of damaged thread left in the hole and swilled out the area with a spray of WD 40 to be sure it was all clean. I then smeared a touch of grease on the tapered threads of the tool and very carefully lined it up and started to screw it in carefully. It quickly became tight so I unscrewed it a little and then screwed it in a bit further, doing this fairly gently a couple more times in the same manner as using a professional tap and die thread cutter.I made sure that it was screwed absolutely all the way in before apply the considerable force required to draw the crank of the spindle.This saved the cost of a replacement set of cranks as the crank is perfectly re-usable though of course will need the taper thread crank puller for future removal.It's an excellent tool but I think a sheet of instructions should be provided detailing it's correct usage for first time users, this would perhaps avoid further negative reviews which in my experience it doesn't deserve.

Cet outil m'a permis de démonter ma manivelle de vélo avec succès .Le taraudage était très endommagé et le démontage était devenu impossible .Il faut bien veiller à amorcer le filet au départ, en restant bien perpendiculaire à la manivelle . Tourner doucement en appuyant axialement . Puis finir en serrant très fortement . Ensuite, agir sur la deuxième vis pour extraire .
