Very lightweight. It all works fine. It is easy enough to install, but there are 2 possible ways to do it and 2 sets of bolts and nuts to choose which way. I'm still not sure why they give you 2 options as either one would be fine. I was looking for sticky paper to stick the rubber gaskets onto the hinges, but there isn't any. I just lined up the gasket and put it on. BTW, I would not stand on it. I used to stand on toilet seats to reach cabinets but after seeing how easy the seat can break at the hinges, I won't be doing that anymore.

I bought this to replace a solid wooden seat that was still in relatively good condition, only the paint had worn away. When I took it out of the bag, everything I needed was there. After fighting to demount the old seat, it went in pretty well, although it took me a moment, that was on me, not the product. What the product description did not say was how 'light' it was. The material is easily cleanable, but instead of a solid seat, it is molded with supports for the holes on the underside of the seat. I'm not huge, but am a larger, older, man and it's a bit spongy when I sit on it. That's my big complaint. They could have made it a solid piece of plastic and it would have worked out so much better. The slow-close feature really works well, and I am now in the process of refurbishing my old seat for the toilet. This is going to be an 'oh crap, I broke my toilet seat and have company coming' standby. It's good enough, but as I said, you get what you pay for.

The seat is sturdy, quiet and clean-looking, as advertised. Comes with a few installation options. I really do like the soft-close feature.The seat is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of our bowl, which isn't ideal, but isn't a deal-breaker. The widest part of the seat is 13-3/4", which leaves 3/16" of exposed porcelain bowl edge around the entire perimeter.The drawback is that with our toilet, which has a standard tank lid, and a low-profile (1/4") bidet, the seat only has a 60% chance of staying up to facilitate standing urination. It has to be held up, or it just slowly closes right in the middle of your business, so the males in this house have quit putting the seat up to urinate. The overall bathroom experience is still a step up from our old thin seat, but I'm going to get tired of cleaning up urine dribbles before I can use the toilet.

I'm terrible at installing things, putting them together, etc.-- even something as simple and obvious as a toilet seat with its two screws and that's it. So I am very happy that this was so easy to install and went right in with no glitches (mis-threaded screws, missing hardware, etc.), but also offered multiple instructions, all totally clear.The measurements and other info in the description on Amazon also upped the odds I was right in thinking this seat would fit the toilet (can you tell I 've never replaced a toilet seat before, lol?), which proved to be the case.So, perfect fit, easy installation and I was already happy with my purchase. I'm not exactly a toilet seat connoisseur, so I don't know what else to say about it-- it's smooth and easy to clean, it doesn't wiggle around, it lifts and closes effortlessly...so as far as I can tell, it's perfect!Also, it offers two sets of hardware, so there's a choice of installing two different ways. I just chose to put it on the same way the previous one was put together, but I guess it's a plus to be offered a choice-- the way I didn't choose is probably minimally easier, but either way is a snap.So I'm happy with my choice, and glad I bought this one instead of one of the many higher-priced ones, since I can't imagine how they'd have any advantage over this one.
