El producto me llegó a tiempo. La barra es sólida y aparentemente está calibrada (no tengo manera de comparar su nivel de error), pero me ha ayuda mucho para calibrara superficies planas.

I don't know why I waited so long to purchase this straight edge. I was back and forth for a while between various brands and whether to opt for steel or settle on aluminum, but lost focus and forgot to even get one until now. Well, Taytools has done it again. I have purchased several items from Taylor Toolworks and have not been let down yet.The straight edge has a beautiful black finish with smooth machined reference edge. I tested it on our kitchen granite countertop, along my cast iron table saw, and my planer and it appears to be straight enough for woodworking. It also has a very nice heft to it and does not feel cheap at all. It arrived undamaged due to the excellent packaging job, which isn't always the case with Amazon. It came with rubber protective end caps on each end, packed inside a cylinder cardboard tube with plastic caps on each end, both of which were secured with heavy duty tape, and inside another larger box. I can't find a single blemish on this tool.One more thing, I don't know if it's supposed to be perfectly straight on it's side but it appears to be, or at least close enough for my needs. Not sure if that matters to anyone but I could see how that would come in handy.Obviously I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice straight edge without breaking the bank.

I had the same positive experience as I did with my 24" Taytools straight edge. They arrived safely, were accurate, clean, no burrs. I tested against the other Taytools, a Starret, and a Stabilla. I can't get a feeler gauge in between any of them.I'm a little sad about the milling marks. I don't think it's too much to ask that you rough cut the edge, then lap it down to final dimensions, but at this price I'm happy enough that their mill is this accurate. It left the surface I pictured. One way for you to conceptualize how smooth this surface is would be the following. You're familiar with how a zip tie sounds when you cinch it down because it makes a zipping noise. Well if you run your finger along the surface of this straight edge, it makes that sound too. My 24 was louder than my 36 if that makes any sense :)How might this affect you? Well there are times when you're going to be using a feeler gauge, sure, but what about when you just want to hold the straight edge up against something like a piece of lumber, and look for light showing through? The lumber will come to rest on the milling ridges, but the valleys will scatter the light through, making you think it's not flat when it could be.Something I didn't read had me worried. Did it sit flat on it's face? I'm happy to find the tool has uniform thickness, 0.410" so that it sits flat on a table with the plane of its reference edge perpendicular to the table. For those of you who might want to run a jig along there or the base of a router, as long as it's softer material than aluminum, go for it.

If you're reading this review then notice the major differences between 5 stars and 3/2 (there are hardly any), and for reasons that, in my opinion, are not justified. I only needed this item to determine the flatness and parallel of a jointer table. Across the entire table I couldn't even get a .0015 feeler gauge under the straight edge. This thing is awesome! It's very stylish and well built. If you're looking for some bulletproof tool then this is close, but it is aluminum and I don't think you can complain for the price. It provides one flat edge for checking flatness...across the entire 36". Well worth the money...don't waste $100 on a steel one...unless you are wanting to use it as a cutting straight edge - which it is NOT! For those complaining they couldn't use this as a machinist tool, it should have been common sense from the price that you might have wanted to spend more money on a steel tool. That aside...I found mine accurate enough for wood and metal work...well worth the price.
