Unfortunately this is a common failure item on Jeeps. Mine kept giving me the gas cap warning. Being lazy I threw a new gas cap on it hoping it would fix the problem but obviously it did not. So I track it down to this and ordered the new part. It comes in well packaged and made the trip to me undamaged. It looked like a good match to the part I was taking off. Being that these fail often I may order another just to have on hand. So far this one has held up over a few months with no issues and no gas cap warning. This did the trick and fixed my issue for now. No complaints. It worked as it was intended to.
Love them. Used them for a baby shower..

Took a week of drive cycles after install to clear the dash warning and current OBD codes. This part fails a lot on my Jeep. It gives a "gascap" warning on the dash and small leak and large leak codes on the OBDII scanner. It's never the gascap on my Jeep. I've swapped out the caps many times but it's not the gascap it's always this part. It's very easy to remove and install with no tools necessary at all. There is a little lever part of the module in the circle where it mounts to the canister that you pull up to allow it to twist out. I could break if you don't lift the lever before pulling out. This particular module comes with a basic O-ring gasket however I've bought OEM versions that have a thicker flat sided gasket. I kept the old gasket in case this one fails. I'll update if this fails prematurely - or more prematurely than they usually do.
