I've purchased many ESP32 WROOM32 boards. These boards are good... they have a CP2102 UART (the seller advertised it as a CP2012, which is a typo & doesn't exist) that's wired correctly to allow "hands-free" programming (ie, the IDE can reset the chip and trigger the bootloader without forcing you to press and hold the BOOT and RST buttons manually). They're just like many other ESP32-S boards I've purchased and used in the past. One noteworthy difference between the ESP32-S vs the S2 and S3, is that only the S is capable of oldschool Bluetooth SPP... the newer S2 and S3 modules can only do BLE. If your goal is to establish a bluetooth connection that works like a "normal" wired serial port to communicate with a PC or Macbook, this is a BIG DEAL. As far as I know, there's NO SUCH THING as an open-source Java library capable of kludging SPP-like functionality via BLE... and even in C(++), it's still pretty bleeding-edge and esoteric (because trying to kludge SPP-like functionality with BLE is literally hammering a square peg into a round hole... using a plastic spoon... in the dark...)

These are full function ESP32 boards that are USB-C, what is not to like about them? They were easy to program with ESP Home, which is what I will be using on them in order to run some home automation devices. There are lots of these kinds of boards out there, so do your research before purchase, but these should be considered, as they are affordable and working boards.
