This is a well constructed, fully assembled Andont - ready for installation anywhere near a power outlet. The unit operates with an AC/DC switching adaptor - from 100-240V, 50/60Hz and 0.5A. Very versatile! A small point, but I like the fact that the power supply has a small green LED built-in. You know at a glance that the power is on.The andont its self is very light-weight. It should not cause any imbalance if located on a machine. The main box is plastic at about 3" X 3" X 7" high. There is a steel bracket that you can mount the unit to. The bracket is about 1 1/4" X 3", with two 5/16" holes, 1" apart. The aluminum pole is about 7" high, at which point the four colours of the andont start. You have Blue, Green, Orange and Red, and each can be turned on or off by it's own switch. The Red light is the only colour to flash when turned on, and it also triggers an internal alarm. The alarm is a rather high, piercing alarm, rather than a low pitched horn. The fact that each light is controlled by its own switch is a good feature. Beside each switch is the corresponding colour of the LED light, so it is very easy to operate. The sound of the Red alarm is not overpowering, and depending on where the andont is located and the sound level in the shop or factory, it might not be loud enough. It would be a nice feature if the sound level was adjustable - even if it were a control not easily accessed.Personally, I find the aluminum pole on the short side. Some of our equipment is about 8 feet tall, so we have to position the andont carefully so not to create a blind spot. The switches are excellent. They all have a good feel, are short throw designed, and give a positive "click" when turned on or off.Bottom line - a well produced, well made andont, ready for installation when you receive it. The four colours are unique to me personally, but that could provide you with another level of communication.

This thing can almost be seen from space! I find it far superior to the models that mix all of the colours into one dome, especially since it allows colour-blind users to see which light is on due to its position instead of trying to decide if they're looking at yellow or green while the machine yellows away until it needs to be turned red!The beeper is just loud enough to be annoying in a small space, but I can't see it standing out very well in the din of a factory.Build quality on the whole unit is great. Plastic is the predominant material, but it's excellent quality and I don't foresee any durability issues with it. I found the price to be a touch high, but I think that's reasonable given the industrial-facing focus of the item and its durable build quality.

I like this model because it has a build in buzzard siren in addition to the lights (flashing is an option) when activated. Use your imagination. You can use this device for signalling.
