I have now used four of these — at intervals of 4 to 10 days — or whenever I happen to notice that it is gone again. It uses an adhesive Velcro patch to hold it to the trash receptacle lid. Unfortunately, it does NOT have the velcros pair as part of the deodorizing circle. It stays attached to the circle for a few days, sometimes I notice when it has fallen off before it is buried in trash. Mostly I do not. I think that it helps with odors but cannot be certain as it does not remain in place long.

Since our only child passed away, there’s very little trash in the house. Since we have a detached garage, neither my husband or I look forward to trudging out to the garage with our garbage. We’ve begun to use a ziplock bag to freeze leftover scraps that might stink up the trash. We discard the bag the evening before trash day, but we still end up with a sour smell in the lidded trash can. I really didn’t see how things that look like dish scrubbers would help— but they do! Very easy to attach to the lid and seem to last at least a month, if not more (I sometimes forget…). Definitely worth the price!

These filters are made for a medium-sized round composting bin. Our bin is rectangular and smaller, but we find that it is a simple matter to cut them to size for my bin.Though we are not fans of composting in the way it is being mandated and poorly communicated, we are trying to be compliant until we get into a situation where I can compost in my yard. These filters address one of the issues with keeping an active composting bin in the kitchen so we are grateful someone thought of offering this product with the increasing demands for composting programs.

I am using them on the underside of a trash can with an automatic lid. They were too large as a full disc so I cut them in half and was able to stick both halves on the lid, it works. I can tell you they absorb odor because like an idiot I sniffed one when replacing it lol, yeah, it stunk.
