This is a very useless filter tray and horrible design. This filter tray is a reminder that this is very much not a professional piece of gear. You can’t use the VND motor if you want to stack filters with the circular filter, and on top of that you can’t use the flag, to me that is just a major design flaw. If you want to have stackable filters buy the 4x5:6 filter tray that slides in. Still not perfect but at least you have a flag. I am returning this plastic paper weight now. This design is so bad I look at Tilta products differently now.

The standard Tilta Mirage matte box comes with only one filter slot for teh circular glass. I needed to shoot with both a pro mist and a variable ND. This addition was easy to install, is lightweight, adds what I can only assume is the thinnest profile possible. Works like a charm.

It’s function is great but you cat go wider than a 22mm on a blackmagic pocket 4k with a sigma 18to35mm and metabones 0.71x super35 speed booster or you will get vignetting. I thing that the speed booster makes it wider than a super35 so maybe ok on a standard s35 with sigma 18-35mm

This product is necessary if you want to stack a second filter tray in front of the Mirage's variable ND filter, or a screw-on filter mounted to your lens. There just isn't enough room in the standard matte box slot location. One big disadvantage to this is that when shooting wider than 35mm, you will see edge vignetting from the filter frames. It seems like Tilta could have designed the basic matte box and/or filter trays to accommodate two filter trays without vignetting, but they didn't.Note that Tilta offers a "dual filter" tray that can accommodate two 95mm filters in one tray. So, you can place a black mist filter and a ND filter in one tray, which will fit in the Mirage's filter tray slot without running into vignetting. I have tried this with a 24mm full frame lens, but I can't confirm how it works with wider lenses. So, aside from the vignetting issue, this could be a great accessory for the Mirage if you need to use two filter trays. Build quality is very nice, and should last a long, long time.
