This battery was installed in an i7 and there was no problem with the installation. The case appears to be identical in dimensions to the OEM battery, the only difference that my OEM battery case was black (and the label was different of course). Once the new battery was installed, I put it on the base and reconnected to my WiFi. The battery arrived almost fully charged, so after about 15-20 minutes it was showing a full charge. The toughest jobs are on the carpet where it uses more power to get around and to rotate the brushes, and I've found that the battery capacity drop is about the same as with a normal OEM battery. I didn't do any calculations, but the Roomba is returning to the base with about the same remaining charge as I remember.I've only been running on this battery for a week so I don't have any prediction about the longevity, so we'll see. This battery is literally 1/3rd the price of the iRobot brand replacement battery, so if lasts even 1/3rd as long as the OEM battery, I haven't lost anything.

This replacement battery for the iRobot i7 is a perfect fit...as it should be since it appears to be an original iRobot case. This leaves me to assume that this is an iRobot refurb battery or a previous version, or something. The battery label is identical to the iRobot battery label except it has a sticker over one corner warning you NOT to remove the sticker at the risk of losing your warranty. I removed part of the sticker. Sure enough, it says "iRobot" under there just like the original battery. I'm not implying this is bad....just an observation for you to consider. One other observation: the new battery weighs 7 grams less than the original. Since they both weigh between 225-235 grams, this may just be normal variance for all iRobot batteries. Again, I'm not drawing any conclusions about the weight difference, just pointing it out.The battery installed easily. I'm not positive of this, but I think that the unit didn't recognize the battery until I place the vacuum onto the home base because I sat it on the floor pushed the home button and I got no response. After placing in the base, the light came on and everything went as normal. Within a few minutes the app showed that the battery was 100% charged, so it must have been nearly fully charged when it arrived.I sent the vacuum on a job, and away it went, completed the task and returned to the base....no problem.Only time will tell if there are longevity issues, but so far so good. I've never been afraid of trying non-OEM stuff or refurbs if it saves some money. If you think similarly, I suggest you give this battery a try.

The little Roomba that could just keeps going. We keep replacing parts on the Roomba and it keeps going. As the battery was getting tired we noticed that it could not complete as much of the job without needing to return to recharge. Replace battery and viola'. Yay. Nearly new i7.
