Unbelievably poor instructions for setup. I cannot get it to link with my x10. Poor customer support. Unimpressed

I bought this remote as a luxury - I wanted it [mostly] as an easy volume dial surface-mounted to the left of the X10, even though the X10 does support my car's steering wheel controls natively. When it arrived and I examined the rotary volume control, I was dismayed.The volume dial is exposed to the front surface only, so that it's embedded just inside the stationary perimeter of the case. So, no casually/subconsciously reaching for the 'knob' to adjust the volume while watching the road... you must find the knurled dial on the surface of the control and turn it with the tips of your fingers. This is doable of course, even with eyes on the road, but it's no more satisfying than using my steering wheel buttons or glancing at the X10's screen to use the damn + or - 'buttons'.I get it, it was designed this way because an exterior volume dial mounted on a steering wheel will get accidentally turned while... steering. Also, on a steering wheel, the resessed volume dial could be adjusted easy enough with an adjacent thumb.So, it's not for my surface-mounted-volume-knob-use case. I probably would not have immediately returned it if I didn't already have functional SWCs and that it's just too expensive for a plastic remote control (another star knocked off for the price).

This item goes very well with my X10. All I had to do to set it up was connect it to the back of my X10. The QR code leads to a website where you to can search this product and it explains where to put it. Easy set up.It is wireless, and it detaches from the wheel! It's super convenient to be able to pass the control wheel to someone if you want to give them control over volume and what song is playing.The back of the wheel is flat and magnetic. The actual volume wheel works well and feel satisfying to click around. The buttons are glow-in-the-dark and responsive.I will say that sometimes I can accidentally click or move the volume wheel while steering, but nothing bad, it's mostly on me.All you do is plug in the receiver it comes with and attach the strap to your wheel and that's it.
