A lot of reviewers are complaining it "only" provides 16bit/44.1khz quality. That's the same as a CD.There's considerable discussion if the human ear can even detect more quality than a CD provides. There's no definitive answer.So let's talk about the important parts. It looks and feels like a very well made product. The optical plug was especially impressive. And more importantly, it was 100% plug and play. It took longer to open the package than to install.10 stars, very happy.

Work around for Windows 11 audio problems.When I updated my PC to Windows 11 I had scratchy audio to my TOS link. I searched around and others have experienced the same problem and there appears to be no solid solution. It appears to be a driver issue but there is no known driver to fix it. I try using my speakers' Bluetooth connection but that was still scratchy. This converter allowed me to work around that and use the optical input on my existing speaker.

This works fantastic for my Sonos playbar. I have a sonos playbar that I like to use for my computer speakers. but I've got a home computer and a work one and wanted to use it for both. So I setup a KVM to run my main monitors with the home/work devices. But I needed a good way to connect the speakers to the KVM. This worked fantastic. I hit a switch and I can swap between desktop/pc with audio switching. A great option

The quality of the item is very good. A little bigger than I expected. However what they fail to tell you is that if you use this on a computer u lose volume control on your computer and can only use volume control on the speakers or device your connecting too. So I gotta give this a 1 star! Sorry

Very good product. Plug one end of the cable into a USB port on your computer and the other end into the digital optical input on your soundbar. Select the new audio output, wait a few seconds and it works perfectly. I have to control the volume at the soundbar, not the computer.
