I got the 5-pack for a little hobby project I was working on. After several days of banging my head against the wall trying to make them work, and reading up some more on the DFPlayer, I decided to get an ORIGINAL version to see if that would work.Test 1: A bare circuit with 2 buttons (many schematics online). These ones never worked - Not one of them. I replaced it on my breadboard with the original, and it magically worked.Test 2: Using a Wemos D1 mini. Same result: replace these ones with the authentic one, and everything magically worked.I tested all 5, and none of them work. Not with the pinouts provided, not with other schematics I looked up online.Don't waste your money, these things are trash.

Really easy to use. It's very versatile too. It will work without a microprocessor, just add some resistors and switches and you're good to go. The built in 3 watt amp does a great job. Keep in mind these are single channel devices, so if you are wanting to play two channel (stereo) MP3 files, you only get one channel.

Just as others have noted, only some work and some do not. I found two were faulty and they would not read the SD card. But at that price I’m keeping them anyways and rating two stars.

Works great. Just take care when/if soldering. Those little onboard resistors fall off easy with a little heat.
