What a great value! This clay come good and moist. It air dries very well too! I started out using crayola brand (which is now garbage to me btw) it was always too dry and difficult to work with. This clay is AWESOME! I love it and it costs a lot less too.

I had to cut off a thin slice of the each side of the clay due to mold. The clay was still nice to work with, however, when it dried, it broke very easily and fell apart. Would recommend buying better quality clay.

What a great product! AMACO 46318 Air Dry Clay is awesome. The kids have never made things will clay before, and it sparked their creativity. While I'd love to have a kiln, this clay works great for pinch pots, figures, plaques, and other things. Make sure you give it plenty of time to dry, at least a couple days depending on the size of your project. Did some research and acrylic paints should work well to paint our projects. Keep in mind, that this clay, and the paint are not food safe. If you have a kiln, then get the proper clay. This clay works great for keepsakes though.

This clay is quite literally amazing. I was able to get 25 lbs of air dry clay for less than half the cost of some other brands. Here's what to expect: The clay does air dry relatively quickly (it varies depending on the thickness of the piece, but a piece the size and shape of a golf ball would take about 10 minutes to start drying on the outside and maybe an hour to fully dry out), so make sure you keep it moist and air-tight when storing (I usually keep a spray bottle on hand when I'm modelling to re-moisten the clay); though it is air drying, it is best suited for use with a kiln if you intend on putting your finished product through any use. Once dry, if it hasn't been kiln fired, it will be pretty brittle and easy for thinner bits to break off. I use the clay to make small figurines and jewelry pieces without a kiln and I haven't hand any bad experiences, so as long as your product has a nice, solid base without a lot of thin bits hanging off you should be fine without a kiln. If you do want to add a little strength but don't have a kiln, I suggest varnishing with a coat or two of polyurethane or similar. This will help ensure the piece stays intact and whatever colors your paint on or mix in will not get rubbed or flaked off.Update: 7/12/16Its been about 5 months since I last used this clay and I've kept it stored in a moist plastic bag tied off with a twist-tie and put into a lockable box. I check it a few days ago and it is still incredibly moist and holding its texture just fine. This clay is definitely the real deal and will keep for a very long time as long as it remains moist.
