I needed a router bit to cut aluminum panels (up to 1/4") and went through a dozen multi-flute bits and all clogged up with aluminum almost instantly. Tried this single flute Amana bit and was blown away - it just works. NEVER clogs.Amana says it's for milling-type machines only, but I've been using this bit in a hand held panel router, cutting various shapes in .25" aluminum panels (with guides) and have never had an issue - hundreds of cuts on a single bit with no dulling at all. It's expensive, but absolutely worth it.

While this is a great cutter this was for a package of 3 and I only received one. I attempted to call their support number given through Amazon and it went to a furniture store with no mention of tooling so I had to issues a return/exchange in hopes I get the 3 that I paid for.Edit: So the description is worded badly. This is a 1/4"x3" tool and not 3 tools. Excellent tool.

I haven't had a chance to actually use this bit, it looks very nice. I have a big issue with the title of this product. It clearly says 1/8 dia x 5, so I thought I was buying 5 bits. The 5 must be from a cutoff dimension. Its an honest mistake I believe, but amounts nearly to false advertising. They do however clearly state on the product page itself that there is 1 item included, so I wont low star. Just a heads up!!!Amana tool, please update these tiles to make this product, and the other set of 1/4 that appear that appears to have x 3, it is very misleading.

Used this bit for cutting 1/8" T-6061 aluminum plate with my CNC machine. Works great! I've cut a few hundred linear feet so far, and the bit shows no signs of wear. I've been climb cutting dry at 12,000 RPM and 24 in/min, cut depth .02" or so, using a stream of cold air to cool the bit and clear chips, and getting a nice surface. These are pretty conservative parameters - you could probably cut faster/deeper, but then again, it's not a very big bit...

Tool works exceptionally well in plastics. It produces nice chips and a very good surface finish on the bottom of pockets. In aluminum, it's a challenge to balance DOC, feed speed and the heat generated. I gummed one up and it snapped off, but i will be trying a mist coolant soon to see if that helps.I have also tried the yonico equivalent and can say that in plastics, the amana is much better. Especially for the surface finish at the bottom of the pocket.
