This part fixed an issue I was troubleshooting for quite some time. My issue was an intermittent rattling sound at idle. It would happen perhaps once or twice every 1,000 miles or so. The rattle almost sounded like my engine was a diesel. When I increased the throttle the sound would go away. My check engine lighy didn't illuminate and since there were no trouble codes I couldn't figure out what was causing it. I replaced the spark plugs, ignition coils, cleaned the MAP sensor, cleaned my fuel injectors and replaced the timing belt tensioner but to no avail. After some research into the theory of operation I concluded the oil control valve (OCV) to be a candidate for the problem. Well, turned out that this was indeed the issue. I replaced the part and also cleaned the metal mesh filter that was located below it. The filter wasn't too dirty or clogged do I don't believe it was causing the problem. I have ran it now for over 2k miles and no more diesel engine. I wanted to replace it with an OEM part but decided to buy this one due to the cost difference (only 15% of the cost of OEM) to see if it would resolve my issue before I spend a large sum on an OEM part since I wasn't 100% sure it was the problem. I plan to keep this installed since it is working fine and may buy the OEM part at some point. Hope this helps anyone experiencing a similar issue as mine.
