I bought this tool because I needed to install roof racks and the have allen head set screws. The allen wrenches I have are too large to fit under. When this tool arrived I was really happy. It is a reversing ratchet wrench that takes bits. It also has a bit holder at the bottom of the tool. Both bit holders have ball detents to hold the bit in place and the ratchet end had a ring on the backside of the bit holder so you don't push the bit into the tool. The tool is very small 1/4 drive wrench and I have a 6 sided bit to 1/4 drive. I put a 10mm socket on both and they are really close in size. The tool is less than 1" wide with the bit and is just over 3" long. It fits good in tight areas. Having a ratchet option is great. I would recommend a bit set with more bits because this tool can do more.

I'm really impressed with the quality of this tool. I don't use it everyday, but there have been several situations where it has saved my bacon. If it ever went missing I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the exact same model.

Amazing little bit ratchet. Great engineering & build quality is great. It's as small as it can be and the ratcheting mechanism is smooth with low resistance. It accepts hex hits without adding any height making it perfect for tight automobile applications. Just get one, you won't regret it.

I picked this up as an EDC ratchet driver to use mainly with my flat leatherman bit kit. It works very well. The passthrough hole in the ratchet allows the majority of the flat leatherman bits to pass right through. (a few of the larger bits don't fit all the way through, but still sit deeply enough to use them. It also works great with the leatherman bit extender. (the 2 sided bits don't work in the inline driver at the end of the handle without using the extension) . It is small and light weight, but feels well built. A bit extension can be used in the end of the handle to gain some extra torque if needed. I"m very pleased with this unit so far.I packed this up nicely in a small sheath and carry it on my belt.

There aren't many tools out there that could do the job I needed done. I tried at least five others, but they either didn't fit into the small space or didn't have the necessary torque under the crowded circumstances. The ARES 70040 is so tiny (only three inches long) that I kept expecting it to snap, but it is very tough, and did the job and more. I do, however, recommend that it come with a set of two inch bits as well as the one inch. I had two inch bits from another tool and and used them with the ARES 70040 for the part of the job where the screws were recessed. For sure though, I was lucky to find the ARES 70040! Lucky someone made it!
