I buy a lot of products on Amazon. I only gave it a four because I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks OK not as shiny as is advertised. That’s my concern.- and for press on tile and comparison of pricing this is actually pricey

Love these tiles. I'm a novice DIYer and I'm just discovering that I can do an entire kitchen makeover just by sticking everything I need on! We decided to use these for a feature wall in our kitchen instead of as a splashback and am so far loving the look. The adhesive is very strong, as some other reviewers have mentioned. I took their advice and was very careful about placement but still made a few mistakes and the tiles are very very difficult to remove. An Exacto knife cuts through them easily. Just score on the steel side slowly with lots of cuts until you are through the steel and then you can be more aggressive to cut through the foam backing and adhesive. You'll want to sandpaper the cut edge for a smooth finish. Leave the protective plastic film on while you do this cos the tiles will scratch easily from the sanding, I ruined a few tiles this way. Took me about 3 hours to do about 6 SQ feet and I had to cut about 12 tiles. One thing to note, there will be a very slight gap/space between the tile edges, especially the corners which are rounded, even if you line them up perfectly since you're not using grout. I would suggest ordering 4 or 6 single tile samples to see how they look up close. We love the overall look and the way the natural light reflects on the layout pattern which changes through the day for us. But with close inspection, some may not like to non-grouted finish. This also makes it very unforgiving in terms of achieving perfect alighnment and a completely flush surface. I can see all of my many mistakes but plan to hide them with a strategically placed floating shelf and other kitchen items. That being said, it's an amazing improvement and totally modernizes our old kitchen without spending thousands.

Pros:1. Very easy to install, very easy to cut - just score the back and then crack it. Very clean. However, you will notice a cracked edge against a formed edge, so orient your cracks to be against the corners and not in the field.2. Price - there's really nothing comparable.Cons:1. The tiles come with a slight warp to them, and tend to bow out, no matter how you install them. If you're OCD, this will drive you insane. If you have under cabinet lighting, it will really highlight the bows. If there's a reason to not use this product - this is it. You will not have a 'flat' surface - you will have consecutive tiles with a slight bow to them.2. The back cutting of the tile sheets (sheets of 8 tiles) is extremely sloppy - the cuts wander, don't always go through the foam. You'll need to check and cut the edges of every single tile to make sure extra foam won't interfere with your edge placement.3. Doesn't stick very well to glossy paint (ie: the bows will be really bad) - be certain to sand your painted surface if it's semi-gloss or gloss.4. If you have mud-finished corners, sand down to the tape to get your corner as close to 90 as possible - the slight warp-out from a standard gypsum mud corner will change the reflective orientation and highlight all of the edges (ie: it'll look bad if you don't do this).5. If you mess up a placement, it will rip the paper right off the gypsum board. If you're careful, you can contain the tear and get another piece right in there without it looking out of place.6. Shipping tends to knock these things around - check your tiles for bends/crumples/squishes. You can usually use them anyway for the cut pieces, but you don't want to put one of them in the field and have to replace it. The % of damaged wasn't too bad in the 3 boxes I used, even the one where they forgot to put in the corner protectors.PRO-TIPIf the bow gets so bad you start seeing a ledge of the black backer-foam, grab a rubber mallet and beat it back into the wall. You won't dent or ding it if you're careful and hit with the flat of the mallet. Takes some of the bow out, and re-adheres the glue. At least for a little while.

I have looked at many comparable items at Home Depot, Lowe's and all over the web. For the exact same thing you can easily pay $20 per square foot. This is by far a better bargain. It is almost half the cost and similar quality. This cut my cost and install time in more than half. I'm very particular and OCD. There are some subtle imperfections to a few tikes, but would not be noticeable to most people. I'm just picky. The tiles are very easy to cut. I suggest cutting them from the back so you do not damage the surface or face of the tile. If you have a sharp razor and score it a few times, the you simply bend it until it makes a pop, then you just bend the metal back and forth until It separates and it leaves a perfectly clean line. I even suggest taking a light grit sandpaper to dull the edge a little more, but it isn't sharp in the first place. A grinder worked well for some more intricate cuts. As for the other comment referring to them being slightly bowed. Some of them are ever so slightly bowed but it is very very simple to straighten out. As with any tile or finishing material, you should inspect it before you install. That's anything you do 101. Lol. Most of them are perfectly straight but as with anything else you will get some subtle variances. The adhesive on the back is very strong. As it states it is pressure-sensitive so the more you push on it the tighter the bond. I only had to remove a couple and I had to use a putty knife to get behind it and really work to get it off of the wall once it was secured. The overall installation and finished look is beautiful. I am a pretty Advanced DIY but any novice or beginner can conquer this job and make it look professional. I went with a standard layout for a simple clean look.
