I was so excited to receive these shoes. I had wanted to buy them for so long. The shoes are well-constructed and seem high quality. They are also very flexible. However, they are much too narrow for wide feet. The shoes are sort of wide in the toe box, but are very narrow in the middle where your feet are the widest. I'm really disappointed because I thought I would love these shoes.

These shoes are great for rafting side hikes and walking in rivers on slippery rocks. If I know I'm going to be hiking or in and out of the river on my feet, the Astrals are my go-to because they are super grippy on slippery surfaces and provide toe protection. They just don't dry very fast -- even in Grand Canyon winds I'd wake up and they'd still be damp. If I know I'm going to be mostly in the boat, I prefer Chacos/Tevas because they dry much much faster.

If you've found yourself looking at these, your search for a stylish, durable, comfortable, everything shoe is over. Ive had them for a little while and in that time they've seen a lot of saltwater, jagged limestone, slick situations, bike riding. From a day on the water to the restaurant right after. What others say about it being grippy is true, You feel like a gecko.I've been on the hunt for something just like this for years. Astral has nailed it and as long as they keep making them, I'll keep buying them.Also, Ive never had a shoe so resistant to stink. I always stink up my shoes in record time, but with these, all I've done is a hose rinse after saltwater. I did a sniff test the other night fully expecting slight hints of cheese, and all I got was the clean, industrial scent of rubber insole.

Fantastic shoe, great company/customer service. Show is almost weightless and grips like like glue. Great for boat shoes, dries in seconds. Carry them in my backpack while hiking to swim in, most of the time I finish the hike in them. Aren’t even uncomfortable full of sand at the beach. Worth every penny.
