I use this router as a mesh node with my main router RT-AX86U connected via Ethernet backhaul. The setup was a breeze. The 160MHz channel width for 5GHz band enables great speeds and coverage. On about 8m (25ft) distance I get almost the same speeds as I get with a direct Ethernet connection to the main router. This mesh node is very stable and has not dropped any connection having almost 15 simultaneous device connections. The small price difference with XT8 is absolutely worth it. With XT8 you get only about 60% speeds on 5GHz band compared to this XT9 routher. The build quality is excellent.

My old router (ASUS GT-AC 5300, circa 2017) started giving up the ghost. so I ordered two of these as a mini mesh system. With just a single router I get much better coverage than I ever got with the gaming router. Even though this is a 2.4/5 gigahertz system all my Wi-Fi 6E clients connect. I have gigabit fiber. Last night, my Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 was downloading at 890 megabits per second. That is absolutely outstanding! The best thing about the router is it small size. I'm able to tuck it virtually anywhere.

Very simple interface and was easy to setup. We have it using the wireless back-channel but have not seen any delays/issues with doing that. When the three kids with SOs were all home for the holidays, we had two TVs streaming, NAS, multiple computers, printers, and other devices operating, as well as everybody's phones on Wi-Fi and did not experience any lagging or other issues. We are connected to fiber @ 1.2 Mbps so that is the bottleneck, not the router.Signal is strong throughout the 2-story 2,800 SF house and I even get a good signal out by the mailbox for my telescope to be controlled through RDP from inside the house. We only have 2 of the ASUS units (one upstairs and one downstairs). In the 13 months since I bought it, I have only had to reboot once. That was because the fiber tech accidently disconnected us when hooking up our neighbor and it caused a hiccup in the router.

Justo lo que necesitaba para extender mi red Wifi en casa, recién compré un router Asus BE y con la tecnología AiMesh me fue súper fácil enlazarlo y conectar todos mis aparatos con la menor perdida y usando la misma app.

Many of the reviews here are written for AX6600 router (since both XT8 and XT9 are listed on the same page). The below review is for XT9 AX7600 router. This is a great router. Setup was breeze and it took 10 mins to setup and replace my existing Orbi router. Speed was exceptional. I have a 400 mbps connection and I get around 440 mbps. Connectivity was very stable. Add satellites to the mesh takes 5 mins for each satellite and connections are very stable. I used 2 XT8 as my satellites and entire mesh system is working good.Difference between XT9 and XT8 : XT9 has a better processor and have 160MHZ enabled in 5 gig -1 band. Otherwise both models are same, If you are looking for saving $$$ XT8 will be a good choice.Wish Asus had 1 gb RAM instead of 512 MB (it is not huge cost for the manufacturer but some odd reason they went with lower RAM for the premium router). Why ASUS? The RAM usage is always 75% to 80%. ASUS cut corners in RAM. Very BAD,Wired backhaul also works good, which would free up the second 5 gig band. The BEST part is the ASUS app, it gives a great amount of info on devices connected along with various settings. (Orbi and Tp-link don't provide so many setting options).Airprotect is a good feature and comes with life time subscription for free (this is a great deal when compared to Orbi which charges a lot on money). Tech support is also good with ASUS.Finally this product comes with 2 year warranty.
