This is made by Atwood, which apparenty has a relationship with Motorguide. I haven't used it on the water but I don't anticipate any problems. It pared perfectly with my Xi5 trolling motor.

I somehow managed to lose my original remote that came with the trolling motor so I had to order this as a replacement. I think this one may look slightly different from my original Xi3 remote. If I recall correctly, the battery on my original one was more easily accessible. I lost it after a month so I didn’t get a chance to examined it very well.The pairing works great. Pairs instantly. The power button is a little sticky and requires more pressure when pressing it down. The other buttons are smooth when pressed.I highly recommend replacing the lanyard. I had it on my neck while out fishing and my hand briefly caught the lanyard and it fell off my neck much too easily. I was surprised how unsecured it is. The piece that connects it together doesn’t do a good job at all . Now I’m just wildly speculating, but maybe this was how I lost my first one? Haha.

Lost my orginial and this one paired up the my Xi3 without any issues. Works great. Just needs a better lanyard. Will be replacing this one. The connector is not that great and will come apart and fall off. How I lost my original one at the river.
