After running this for a week to break in my subwoofers, I can say this is a good value for the money. I have this paired with a pair of 400watt 10" subs and a 70 hertz low pass inline filter (to protect the speakers from high frequency audio inputs). I started them off slow, at half gain, no DB boost, EQ settings, bass boost off and no "Loudness" mode engaged, and played my classic rock music at about 1/4 volume for several hours. Next day I dialed in a little bass, adjusted the fader 1/2 towards the rear channel and dialed up the volume a touch, along with the gain on the amplifier. Left it on in the workshop overnight. Each day I dialed it up a little more. After 5 days running constantly it still is functional. Today I hooked up my voltmeter and ran a 40 hertz test tone thru the head unit, removed the speakers and dialed in my gain (with bass boost engaged, volume at max and DB boost to 6) and it still didn't exceed the voltage output for the square root of my speaker RMS (which is 28v AC for my speakers). After that, I hooked the speakers back up and ran it at 2/3 max volume with the bass at maximum. After an hour, the amplifier did get warm but not terribly so, not too hot to touch but still enough to be noticable. My speakers do make good thump and throb, the amp hasn't gone into auto-protect mode, no stinky burnt smell or signs of distress. I call this a win and successful break-in. Under normal driving conditions and usage, I am confident this amplifier, coupled with these subs, will do the task I require. This isn't going to stand up to, nor win, any Thump & Bump audio contest, but for hearing groovy tunes over the wail & howl of a big block muscle car engine blowing through headers, glass pack mufflers and side pipes while cruising at highway speeds, yeah, this will work for me. And for the price point, I doubt you will be able to beat it for what it delivers.Does it REALLY output a full 800 watts? I don't have the specialized equipment to determine that. I do know it has survived 48 hours at mid to 2/3 volume with the bass cranked to full. I could hear it outside my shop, but not so loud my neighbors complained about it. It WILL push a 40 hertz signal at 28 volts to satisfy a 400 watt speaker (at a 4 ohm load), which is the target voltage of 200 watts RMS. That is for each channel too, so there is that. So far so good. Take your time to dial in the gain for your speakers (there are videos on YouTube for this), use matching speakers that are equal to, if not better than what this amp will deliver, DEFINITELY use low pass filters or crossovers, break it in gently, and you should be fine.Super Dave Approved! 👍

Installed subwoofers in the single cab pick up truck and still can’t decide which sound is best “Bass, Boom, or Flutter “ anyhow it sounds great either way.

As you can see in this picture I have the amp all wired correctly I have ran the power wire from the battery with a 50 amp fuse and I have the amp grounded under my seat it works perfectly until on certain songs when the bass is to much the amp will go into protect the description for this amp clearly says 800 watt max peak at 2 ohms I’m currently running a 500 watt max 12in skar at 2 ohms in a enclosed box for the amp to go into protect mode every time the bass hits sounds very suspicious to me
